Worley is available out of the bullpen Wednesday while Saturday's rotation spot remains TBA, MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Worley has made two starts, but the Orioles have some flexibility due to Sunday's rainout and Monday's off day. The Orioles could give Tyler Wilson a shot to start Saturday's game if the team elects to use Worley before then. Either way, Saturday's start figures to be a one shot deal if Kevin Gausman is ready to be activated early next week. That could not only threaten a rotation spot, but it may threaten a roster spot for either Worley or Wilson.

Worley (1-0) surrendered four hits, four earned runs and two walks over six innings in Friday's 11-5 victory over the Rangers. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Named the fifth starter for the time being due to Kevin Gausman's back troubles, Worley was solid overall in his 87-pitch stint. He gave up righty-masher Mitch Moreland's first homer of the season in the second, but otherwise practiced adequate damage control against a dangerous Rangers lineup in Globe Life Park. Friday's performance certainly provided much greater encouragement than Worley's 4.2-inning stint versus the Rays on Apr. 10, and he may receive one more turn before Gausman is ready for a return.

Worley remains in line to start Friday's game, but Kevin Gausman (back) will make a minor league rehab start Friday and it seems like Gausman is lined up to take Worley's rotation spot next Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
This is not particularly surprising news, as Worley only secured the rotation spot by way of Gausman's injury. Worley was not particularly strong in his first start. Not only is the rotation spot in jeopardy, Worley's roster spot may also be threatened by Gausman's return.

Worley will start Friday against the Rangers, the Baltimore Sun's Eduardo Encina reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles finally revealed that Worley will get a second turn as the fifth starter with Kevin Gausman (shoulder) out, although it's hard to get excited after Worley only lasted 4.2 innings in his first start of the year. Friday's game could turn into a bullpen game in a hurry, with Tyler Wilson also likely available to log several innings, so Worley should be avoided in most daily formats.

Worley allowed three runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five over 4.2 innings, but received no decision Sunday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Worley was staked to a four-run lead, but ran into trouble in the fifth inning and had to be bailed out by the bullpen. Had he been able to finish the inning, he would've qualified for the win. He's been in a battle for the fifth rotation spot, and although he didn't have great outing, it should be enough for him to stay in the rotation for now. He'll make his next start Friday at the Rangers.

The Orioles have not announced a fifth starter yet, leaving Worley and Tyler Wilson available out of the bullpen for the first two games, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
EDGE Analysis
Once healthy, Kevin Gausman will take over the last spot in the rotation, which may leave the O's with a roster decision to make with one of their two temporary fifth starter candidates in the coming weeks.

Worley threw two innings Friday and seems to have made Baltimore's Opening Day roster as a swing man, MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Worley should be available out of the bullpen on Opening Day at the minimum. His sights will be set on April 10. If healthy, Kevin Gausman (shoulder) will start that game. If not, either Worley or Tyler Wilson will make the start. Worley gave up 10 runs -- eight earned -- on 19 hits with seven strikeouts and four walks in 16.2 innings this spring. Once Gausman or Brian Matusz is healthy, Worley's roster spot could be threatened.

Worley threw an inning Wednesday and will start Friday's final exhibition game before the Orioles decide on their rotation, MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Miguel Gonzalez released Wednesday, it comes down to Worley, Mike Wright and Tyler Wilson for two spots. Worley has the experience factor, but Wright and Wilson have outpitched him this spring. Realistically, the Orioles likely have made up their minds, but are trying to keep Worley motivated for Friday's start.

Worley could be released if he does not make the Orioles rotation out of spring training, MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Releasing Worley could save $2.6 million for the Orioles. It is too early to say if Worley will secure a rotation spot. He has allowed seven earned runs in 13.2 innings with a 1.46 WHIP in the Grapefruit League, but nearly every member of Baltimore's rotation has struggled and that could leave the door open for Worley.

Worley tossed two shutout innings with three strikeouts against the Twins in Sunday's Grapefruit League game.
EDGE Analysis
Worley followed Miguel Gonzalez, who was roughed up badly for the second time in three appearances. With Worley following Gonzalez to the mound and delivering an encouraging performance, there has to be speculation that Worley could make the rotation. Worley has allowed three runs on five hits with a walk and five strikeouts this spring.
