Bauer didn't factor into the decision in Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cubs. He gave up one run on four hits and four walks while fanning seven across 4.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Bauer had quite a few issues with his command and walked a season-high four batters, but he limited the damage to just one run -- it came on a solo shot from Jason Heyward in the fourth. The right-hander continues to be a strikeout machine this season and has fanned at least seven in all but one of his seven starts. He owns a 58:12 K:BB through 44.1 innings in 2021.

Manager Dave Roberts said the Dodgers will probably treat one of their weekend games against the Angels as a bullpen day, meaning Bauer is unlikely to make a start on short rest Saturday, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bauer will make his first start of the week Tuesday in the second game of a doubleheader with the Cubs. The right-hander had been considered a candidate to start Saturday on three days' rest if needed, but instead, Roberts appears comfortable using multiple pitchers to cover the innings that day. Bauer could still end up picking up two starts this week if Roberts elects to use him over Clayton Kershaw -- the starter for Game 1 of Tuesday's twin bill -- in Sunday's series finale with the Angels.

Bauer will start Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cubs and could pitch on short rest in the future, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Dodgers lost Dustin May over the weekend to a season-ending elbow injury, and the club is also without long relievers Tony Gonsolin (shoulder) and David Price (hamstring), who could typically be used to start games if needed. Manager Dave Roberts mentioned Monday that he has considered pitching Bauer every four days until the pitching staff can return to health. "We've thought about it, yeah," said Roberts. "There's a scenario that it could happen. We do a good job of listening to the player, as well, if they have some sort of track record or experience -- which Trevor does. We're going to talk through it."

Bauer (3-1) was the tough-luck loser Thursday against Milwaukee, throwing eight innings and allowing two runs on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts as Los Angeles fell 2-1.
EDGE Analysis
Bauer was excellent yet again in his sixth start with the Dodgers, the only blemish being a two-run home run off the bat of Travis Shaw with two outs in the fourth inning that ended up being the starter's downfall. It's Bauer's fifth straight quality start with no more than six base runners allowed in each outing.

Bauer (3-0) earned the win against San Diego on Saturday, throwing six innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and no walks while striking out nine.
EDGE Analysis
Bauer was burned by a pair of solo home runs off the bat of Fernando Tatis, but he otherwise held San Diego in check and emerged with his third win of the campaign. The right-hander has gone at least six innings in each of his five outings this season and has accumulated four straight quality starts. Bauer racked up 20 swinging strikes against the Padres on Saturday and has been an excellent source of strikeouts in the early going with 45 K's across 32.0 innings. His next start will come at Milwaukee on Thursday.

Bauer allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk while striking out seven across six innings in Sunday's loss to the Padres. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Bauer's only damage against him came on a solo shot from Jake Cronenworth in the fourth inning. Sunday was Bauer's shortest start and least amount of strikeouts, but still gave seven punchouts over six innings. The 30-year-old has a 2.42 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 26 innings.

Bauer (2-0) allowed one hit and two walks over seven scoreless innings in a win over the Rockies on Tuesday. He struck out nine.
EDGE Analysis
A measly infield single was all the Rockies could muster against Bauer. The right-hander's velocity dropped some as the outing went on, but it did not matter as Bauer was dominant throughout, finishing with 16 swinging strikes on 99 pitches. According to a report from Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, multiple suspicious baseballs were collected during Bauer's start last week in Oakland. However, nothing has come of that yet and it's not clear what MLB could even do if a substance had been found on the baseball. Bauer lines up to face the Padres in San Diego on Sunday.

Multiple suspicious baseballs were collected by umpires during Bauer's start Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The baseballs were sent to league offices for further investigation on the suspicion that they had foreign substances placed on them. Even if the league office substantiates the allegation that the balls were doctored, there are seemingly a number of hurdles for any discipline to take place. Specifically, it is unclear whether commissioner Rob Manfred has the authority to impose any punishment. Additionally, the league would need proof that Bauer himself was responsible for the application of any substances to the ball.

Bauer pitched 6.2 innings against Oakland on Wednesday, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out 10. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The reigning NL Cy Young award winner has gotten off to a fast start with his new club, registering 10 strikeouts in each of his first two outings. Bauer threw a hefty 110 pitches Wednesday, 67 of which were strikes, including 16 of the swinging variety. He left with a one-run lead before Oakland mounted a comeback in the ninth and won the game in the 10th. Bauer's next trip to the mound is scheduled for Tuesday at home against Colorado.

Bauer (1-0) picked up the win in Friday's 11-6 victory over the Rockies, giving up four runs on three hits and two walks over 6.1 innings while striking out 10.
EDGE Analysis
It was a strong line for a start at altitude, but Bauer likely came away disappointed after taking a no-hitter into the seventh inning before Coors Field finally got to the right-hander as Charlie Blackmon and Ryan McMahon both took him deep. Bauer will look for a better finish to his next outing, scheduled for Wednesday in Oakland.
