Bauer's administrative leave was extended through Aug. 6 on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bauer remains out while the league investigates assault and sexual allegations against him. He'll remain on leave until the investigation is finished, as the league can continue to issue extensions, so there's no reason to believe Aug 6. is the date when he'll return to the field.

Bauer was placed on 7-day administrative leave by Major League Baseball on Friday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Dave Roberts said Thursday that the league recommended Bauer remain in line to start as scheduled Sunday, but the right-hander has now been placed on leave while the assault and sexual assault allegations against him continue to be investigated. MLB said in a statement that "no determination in the case has been made," and Bauer's status beyond the initial seven-day window remains unclear.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed Bauer would make his next start Sunday in Washington, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rather than placing Bauer on administrative leave, the Dodgers will allow the right-hander to continue making regular starts while he remains under investigation by Major League Baseball and Pasadena Police Department for assault allegations. "I'm in the position of following the lead of Major League Baseball," Roberts told the media Thursday. "Their recommendation was for us to -- he was our scheduled starter Sunday, and to move forward and to have him start that game on Sunday. And so for me to try to read into it anymore outside of just following what they had advised me and us to do, I just choose to kind of follow their lead."

EDGE Analysis
An agent for Bauer denied any wrongdoing and said in a statement that any allegations will "be refuted to the fullest extent of the law." Major League Baseball and the Dodgers have been made aware of the allegation, and the league office is examining the situation as the investigation continues.

Bauer (8-5) won Monday's 3-2 game with San Francisco, allowing two runs on eight hits and a walk with eight strikeouts in six innings.
EDGE Analysis
Bauer was spotted an early 2-0 lead and eventually departed after the sixth inning in line for the win, allowing just two runs on LaMonte Wade and Brandon Crawford solo home runs. Bauer threw six innings in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to San Diego, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks with 10 strikeouts. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Bauer tied his season high with four walks although none of them came back to hurt the righty as all three runs allowed came on solo homers - two in the first and one in the seventh. He's now gone over 100 pitches in four straight starts and is sporting a career high 11.4 K/9, though a 3.67 FIP compared to a 2.57 ERA indicates some decline may be ahead.
