Snider left Wednesday's game with left hamstring discomfort. Snider reached base on a bunt single in the bottom of the third inning, but appeared to tweak his hamstring while doing so. He was lifted for pinch-runner Jose Tabata and will undergo treatment on the injury. The Pirates are expected to update Snider's status after reevaluating his condition Thursday.

Snider will bat second and play right field Friday night against the Brewers. The outfielder is batting .459 (17-for-37) with three homers and seven RBI in his last 10 games. Snider is now even playing ahead of Gregory Polanco in right field, though that will likely change whenever he cools off. The former Blue Jay is also playing well in the field, making it difficult for manager Clint Hurdle to even consider sitting him right now.

Snider went 2-for-3 with a run scored Wednesday against the Braves. With Andrew McCutchen's return from the disabled list Tuesday, Snider will almost certainly lose playing time in the coming weeks. He continues to swing a very hot bat, however, which will likely lead manager Clint Hurdle to find ways to keep him in the mix for the near term.

Snider may find his playing time cut into with the anticipated return of Andrew McCutchen on Tuesday. Snider went 2-for-4 with a double Monday and is batting .350/.409/.638 with six homers and 18 RBI in 88 plate appearances since July 12. With Starling Marte and Gregory Polanco entrenched in the corner outfield spots, that leaves Snider on the outside looking in. Snider, like Pedro Alvarez, practiced at first base recently, but it's unlikely the Bucs try another untested player at first in the midst of a pennant race. Snider owners may have to wait for another injury before he receives steady playing time again.

Snider went 2-for-4 with a couple of singles in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Nationals. Snider finished up a red hot week at the plate by extending his current hitting streak to eight games. Over this stretch, the 26-year-old outfielder is batting an even .400 (12-for-30) with three homers, three doubles and seven RBI. Snider should continue to see regular playing time as long as Andrew McCutchen (ribs) remains out.

Snider went 1-for-3 with his 10th homer of the year against the Tigers on Wednesday. He has six hits in his last 12 at-bats, including five extra-base hits (two doubles, three homers) and seven RBI. Snider will continue to see steady playing time with Andrew McCutchen (rib) on the DL. McCutchen is eligible to come back Aug. 19, but could be out longer.

Snider went 3-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI, three runs scored and one double Monday against the Tigers. Snider exploded Monday as the Pirates scored 11 runs as a team. Although this was impressive, he is only hitting .251 with nine home runs and 29 RBI this season.

Snider's pinch-hit single Thursday gave him two hits in his last 18 at-bats as his recent hot bat has cooled in August. He's 2-for-6 against Friday starter Ian Kennedy and could be back in the starting lineup. Interestingly, the outfielder was spotted taking ground balls at first base during practice prior to Thursday's game.

Snider is out of the lineup Thursday against the Marlins. Snider will take a seat Wednesday with the left-handed Brian Flynn on the mound for the Marlins. Josh Harrison will move into left field in his place, with Jayson Nix starting at third and Michael Martinez at second.

Snider is batting .343/.410/.629 in his 39 plate appearances and should see additional playing time while Andrew McCutchen (left oblique) is out of the lineup. He cooled off over the weekend with just one hit in 12 at-bats, but the opportunity will be there for the lefty with Cutch sidelined. Snider holds a .313/.415/.413 slash line in 80 at-bats at PNC Park in 2014, where the Pirates begin an eight-game homestand Tuesday.
