Lincecum signed a major-league deal with the Rangers on Tuesday, Jon Heyman of FanRagSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lincecum hasn't pitched since his failed comeback attempt with the Angels in 2016 in which he posted a 9.16 ERA in nine starts. The former Giants ace hasn't recorded an ERA below 4 since 2011, and his formerly electric fastball averaged just 87.7 mph in his latest major-league season. Still, the fact that the Rangers liked him enough to offer a major-league contract suggests that his stuff may have ticked back up at least a bit. Expectations for Lincecum should be low, but he did join a team without an established closer, so if he's anywhere close to his former self, he could be a darkhorse saves candidate. It would be wise to wait and see how his stuff looks this spring to see if that's remotely within the realm of possibility, though. Given how poorly he pitched in recent years, the Rangers will probably be content for him to be a competent long reliever.

The Red Sox will send a scout to watch Lincecum's scheduled workout Thursday, Sean McAdam of the Boston Sports Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unknown how much interest the Red Sox have in Lincecum, but when a two-time Cy Young award winner is auditioning for a job, you send a scout. The Red Sox are all set in the rotation, so Lincecum would have to settle for a bullpen role in Boston or serve as a depth starter at Triple-A Pawtucket.

Lincecum is scheduled to throw in a showcase for interested suitors Thursday in Seattle, Jon Heyman of FanRagSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After noticing a drastic decline in his numbers and his velocity over the preceding five season, the 33-year-old Lincecum sat out the 2017 season with no team extending him a major-league deal. Recent reports have suggested that Lincecum's fastball has been topping 90 miles per hour during his workouts, so a number of clubs are expected to be in attendance Thursday in order to see if the two-time Cy Young winner has anything left in the tank. If a team does express interest in signing Lincecum, it's unclear if the right-hander would be willing to accept a bullpen role.

Lincecum is expected to throw in a showcase for teams in the near future, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lincecum is apparently looking to return to the majors after sitting out the 2017 season. He struggled to a 9.16 ERA during his last comeback attempt with the Angels in 2016 following 2015 hip surgery. The 33-year-old, who was electric when at the top of his game, will surely draw interest from teams across the league, who will be curious to see if he's healthy and indeed throwing hard again, as Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reported.

Lincecum tossed seven innings of one-run ball against Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
He returned from an illness to post one of his best outings of the season for the Bees, but the Angels seem unlikely to give Lincecum more than a start or two in the final weeks of the season since he's not currently on the 40-man roster. That plan may be subject to change after Matt Shoemaker was hit in the head by a comebacker during his start Sunday.

Lincecum (illness) is scheduled to pitch Sunday at Triple-A Salt Lake, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lincecum hasn't thrown in eight days, but it looks like the two-time Cy Young Award winner will be back on the mound soon. Unfortunately, his disappointing performance with the big club has continued with Salt Lake. After starting six games at the Triple-A level, he owns a 4.31 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP.

Lincecum has decided to accept an assignment to Triple-A, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
It was unclear as to whether Lincecum would elect free agency or accept a demotion to the minors after being designated for assignment on Saturday but it is now revealed he has chosen the latter. The 32-year-old struggled mightily in his comeback with the Angels this season, posting a 9.16 ERA and 2.37 WHIP over nine starts and unless he rediscovers how to limit baserunners and keep runs off the board, he figures to remain in the minors the rest of the season.

Lincecum was designated for assignment by the Angels on Saturday, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The writing was on the wall -- manager Mike Scioscia would not commit to Lincecum making another start after another poor outing Friday -- and the Angels went ahead and made a move Saturday. He pitched his way off the roster after just nine starts, failing to turn in a quality start in any of the subsequent eight outings following his Angels debut. Lincecum will now be subjected to waivers, and if he goes unclaimed, he can opt for free agency.

Lincecum (2-6) allowed six runs on nine hits over 3.1 innings in Friday's 6-4 loss to Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
All six runs came in the first inning, as the right-hander allowed the Mariners to bat around, capped by a Mike Zunino three-run bomb to break an early 3-3 tie. This could be the last start we see from "The Freak," for a demotion, in some capacity, is in order, as his return season has only gone freakishly bad, posting a scary 9.16 ERA and 5.40 BB/9 over 38.1 innings pitched. Look for manager Mike Scioscia to make a decision on Lincecum in the coming days.

Lincecum struggled again Friday, allowing 11 runners to reach base and giving up four earned runs in a loss to the Red Sox, but he will remain in the Angels' rotation for the time being, Pedro Moura of the LA Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lincecum sits with an 8.49 ERA and 2.29 WHIP after eight starts with the Angels, which is all the evidence needed to describe how he is pitching right now. However, manager Mike Scioscia said after Saturday's game that Lincecum will receive another start next time through the rotation. That lines Lincecum up to pitch during next week's series with the A's, a team he limited to one run over six innings in his Angels debut, but tagged him for four runs over three innings five days later.
