Taylor Teagarden (thumb) had the splint removed from his dislocated left thumb on Friday. Teagarden was originally given a 3-4 week timetable for recovery when the injury occurred, so barring any setbacks he should be looking at a return to the Orioles before the end of the month.

The Orioles are considering placing Taylor Teagarden (thumb) on the 60-day disabled list. The O's originally said Teagarden will miss 3-4 weeks with a dislocated left thumb, but he'll visit a hand specialist on Tuesday before a final determination is made. Baltimore has acquired Chris Snyder to provide depth behind Matt Wieters.

He'll be evaluated at a later time, but it seems likely that he will require a trip to the disabled list. If so, Luis Exposito could be recalled to serve as the primary backup catcher to Matt Wieters.

Taylor Teagarden (back) returned to Grapefruit League action Sunday. Teagarden is slated to return to the starting lineup Monday, but he was back in action as a sub a day earlier. The Orioles' backup catcher hadn't played in over a week due to back spasms.

Teagarden hasn't played in a week due to back spasms, but he took batting practice and caught bullpen sessions this week without incident. Barring any setbacks, the 29-year-old should serve as Matt Wieters' backup this season.

Taylor Teagarden (back) will take batting practice and catch bullpen sessions again Friday. He's done it now a few times this week, and if he gets through it again OK Friday, he could be cleared to return to game action. Teagarden will back up Matt Wieters this season.

Taylor Teagarden (lower back) resumed baseball activities on Tuesday and reported no issues. Teagarden was idle for a few days due to back spasms. He should be fine for the start of the regular season.
