Drew went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Friday's 7-4 loss to the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran infielder connected for his first homer since way back on July 3 versus the Reds. Drew has put together a solid September (.297/.386/.459) and has generally been solid while logging 140 at-bats this season. While his eight homers and 21 RBI lag significantly behind the 17 round-trippers and 44 runs he drove in with the Yankees in 2015, it's notable that Drew has improved his batting average by 70 points to .271, while also playing 62 fewer games in the current campaign.

The Nationals activated Drew (illness) from the disabled list Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Drew kicked off a rehab assignment last Thursday after missing over a month due to vertigo symptoms, and he is ready to rejoin the big club less than a week later. He will fill a part-time utility role, but with the Nationals comfortably in first place, he figures to start here and there when manager Dusty Baker decides to give his regulars some rest.

Drew (illness) began a rehab assignment with High-A Potomac on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Drew had been sidelined for all of August and part of July due to vertigo symptoms, but he is feeling good enough to return to game action. He will likely play a few times in the minors and rejoin the Nationals at some point later this month.

Drew (illness) received an ear injection to alleviate vertigo symptoms, Dan Kolko of MASN reports.
EDGE Analysis
If all goes well, Drew's vertigo will be much less severe in two weeks, at which point a timeframe for his return should become more clear. Before being placed on the disabled list on July 27, Drew had built a .262/.319/.563 line over 51 games.

Drew has increased his participation in baseball activities, Chase Hughes of CSNMidAtlantic.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Drew will be examined again in the coming days, but his participation in workouts is encouraging. Upon his eventual return, Drew will return to his role as a backup across the Washington infield.

Drew (ear) took ground balls on the field prior to Sunday's game, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Drew has been on the DL since July 27 due to an inner-ear issue, but the veteran was able to play catch and take some grounders Sunday afternoon. The progress is encouraging enough to suggest Drew could return following the minimum stay on the DL, but the real concern is his playing time after he's back, as prospect Trea Turner has emerged in Drew's absence.

Drew is dealing with an inner ear issue and is not yet ready for baseball activities, Mark Zuckerman of Masnsports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Drew has been on the disabled list since July 27 with an illness. Drew said the ear issues is related to his illness and is not concussion related. In his absence, rookie Trea Turner has been playing really well, so it will be really hard for Drew to find consistent playing time upon his return.

The Nationals placed Drew on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with vertigo-like symptoms, Dan Kolko of MASN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Drew has apparently been ill for about a week and was only showing minimal improvement, so the Nationals decided to deactivate him and send him back to Washington for further evaluation. Wilmer Difo was called up to take Drew's place on the roster.

Drew (illness) went 1-for-3 with a pinch-hit, game-winning RBI triple in Saturday's 3-2 victory over the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran stepped into the batter's box with Anthony Rendon on first in the bottom of the ninth, and smacked a triple to deep center to send the Nationals home victors. Drew has a modest three-game hitting streak, and has hit safely in five of the last seven games. The 33-year-old is now slashing .262/.319/.553 over 103 at-bats as part of a platoon this season.

Drew was unavailable for Tuesday's game due to an illness, MASN Sports' Mark Zuckerman reports.
EDGE Analysis
It is apparently the same illness that has kept Anthony Rendon out for the past three days, so Drew may require a couple more days to get right. Meanwhile Trea Turner has been starting at second base while Daniel Murphy has been starting at the hot corner. That setup should continue until Rendon and Drew are both healthy.
