Indians manager Terry Francona said Wednesday that Shaun Marcum (thoracic outlet surgery) is slightly behind the other pitchers with his throwing schedule. Marcum, who signed a minor league deal with the Indians in December, might be delayed 7-10 days before he can pitch in a game. The 32-year-old was limited to just 78 1/3 innings with the Mets last year prior to undergoing thoracic outlet surgery.

Indians signed RHP Shaun Marcum to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Jordan Bastian of MLB.com hears that Marcum would have a $1 million base salary if he makes the team, with the chance for another $3 million with incentives. He can opt out of the deal if he doesn't make the Opening Day roster. The 32-year-old is coming off thoracic outlet surgery and has had a host of injuries in his career, but he's a nice gamble for Cleveland.

FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi reports that the Indians have signed right-hander Shaun Marcum to a minor league contract. Marcum was limited to just 78 1/3 innings with the Mets this past season prior to undergoing thoracic outlet syndrome surgery. The 32-year-old is far from a sure thing to be healthy in 2014, but this is a no-risk situation for the Indians.

Shaun Marcum's agent, Rex Gary, told MLB Trade Rumors that his client is doing well in his recovery from thoracic outlet syndrome surgery and expects to be ready for spring training. Marcum required season-ending surgery in July, but he's expected to be on his normal offseason throwing program. After posting a 5.29 ERA and 60/21 K/BB ratio over 78 1/3 inning with the Mets this season, he may have to accept an incentive-laden deal. He turns 32 in December.

Shaun Marcum has been placed on release waivers. Marcum underwent surgery earlier this month for thoracic outlet syndrome and will not pitch again this season. This is basically just a procedural move for the Mets.

Mets placed RHP Shaun Marcum on the 15-day disabled list with thoracic outlet syndrome. Marcum will have surgery on Monday to repair an artery blockage that was causing numbness in his pitching hand. He could resume throwing again in two months, but his season is over. The veteran right-hander will be a free agent this offseason.

Shaun Marcum (hand) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. The news was first reported by WFAN's Ed Coleman and has been confirmed by Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com. An exact diagnosis isn't known yet, but Marcum had been feeling numbness in his pitching hand the last couple starts. It sounds like he might have thoracic outlet syndrome, but we should know for sure shortly. The righty will be a free agent this winter.

The Mets will skip Shaun Marcum's (back, hand) next turn in the rotation. Marcum has dealt with an upper back injury recently and experienced numbness in his pitching hand in his last start, which was probably related to the back ailment. For the time being, he's expected to avoid the DL. Carlos Torres is likely to get a start in his place.

The Mets are considering skipping Shaun Marcum's next turn in the rotation. Marcum made his scheduled start Saturday despite a back injury, but he was knocked around for five earned runs on 11 hits over five innings. If the Mets do skip him, they're likely to give Carlos Torres a spot start.
