Flaherty has his shoulder examined Thursday in Baltimore, and he's expected to be cleared to participate in fielding drills for the weekend, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Flaherty's return from late-May shoulder injury has had its hurdles, but it appears the veteran is finally clearing some obstacles. Even so, the utility man still has work to do before departing on a rehab assignment. At this point, Flaherty's 2017 season won't amount to much of anything from a fantasy perspective.

Flaherty (shoulder) has resumed throwing at the Orioles' spring training facility in Sarasota, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Flaherty had been progressing in his initial throwing program until he experienced discomfort a few weeks ago and was shut down as a precaution. The 30-year-old still has a ways to go before he's able to participate in rehab games, but a return to the big leagues sometime in the later stages of the season appears to be a strong possibility. Flaherty was hitting 7-for-30 over 13 games to begin the year before being sidelined with shoulder inflammation.

Flaherty (shoulder) was transferred Wednesday from the 10-day disabled list to the 60-day DL, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The transaction opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for Zach Britton (forearm), who was activated from the 60-day DL in a corresponding move. Flaherty hasn't appeared in a game with the Orioles since May 18, so the move to the 60-day DL will only delay his eligibility date by a week or two. The utility man wasn't expected back before the All-Star break anyway, as he has yet to resume full activities and isn't particularly close to heading out on a minor-league rehab assignment.

Flaherty (shoulder) felt discomfort when he attempted to throw farther than 60 feet Monday, Rich Dubroff of PressBoxonline.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The utility man seems to be fine throwing at shorter distances, but it's concerning that he still is unable to ramp up his throwing beyond that. This is just one more addition to a growing list of setbacks in Flaherty's rehab, so the Orioles will likely take things fairly slowly with his rehab moving forward. He still remains without a timeline for return.

Flaherty (shoulder) played catch out to 60 feet in Florida on Monday, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Flaherty continues to slowly ease his way back from a shoulder injury that has kept him sidelined since mid May. The 30-year-old has experienced multiple setbacks since landing on the disabled list, so the Orioles will likely continue to move him along slowly. A clearer timetable for his return should emerge as he progresses through his throwing program.

Flaherty (shoulder) was cleared to begin throwing Friday, Rick Dubroff of PressBoxonline.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a big step in Flaherty's recovery process, as the 30-year-old finally appears to be turning a corner after experiencing nothing but complications since first landing on the disabled list May 21. A clearer timetable for his return should be available as he continues to ramp up his throwing, but it seems he's slowly inching closer.

Flaherty (shoulder) will see Dr. James Andrews on Friday, hoping to get clearance to begin a throwing program, Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Flaherty landed on the 10-day disabled list May 21. Since then, he's experienced nothing but complications and uncertainty. Friday's visit should finally provide some clarity on his situation.

Flaherty (shoulder) is going to begin throwing at extended spring training next week, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is encouraging news, as he seemed to be stagnating in his recovery process following the PRP injections he received at the end of the May. It's unclear how much he'll be throwing net week or exactly when it will happen, but it seems like he's still a good ways away from returning to full action.

Flaherty (shoulder) has put off receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection until doctors take another look at the MRI to pinpoint the trouble spot, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
The injured utility man will hold off on getting another shot after the first PRP injection didn't yield any results. Flaherty's unforeseen injury has quickly grown inflamed into a serious concern.

Flaherty (shoulder) is expected to receive another platelet-rich plasma injection in the next day or two, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Flaherty was given a PRP shot earlier in the week, but it would seem the treatment has done little to ease his discomfort. The team's doctors reportedly want to take another look at Flaherty's MRI to see if they can figure out what's going on.
