Roy Halladay (shoulder) threw a five-inning simulated game Saturday afternoon in Clearwater, Florida. Halladay reported feeling fine. He will continue to work out at the Phillies' spring training complex until the team's medical staff clears him for minor league rehab games. There's some hope that the veteran right-hander will be ready for activation by the end of August.

Roy Halladay (shoulder) will throw a simulated game at the Phillies' spring training complex in Clearwater, Florida on Saturday. Halladay came out of Monday's bullpen session feeling strong, and could return to the Phillies' rotation in late August as long as he avoids any setback. Fantasy owners should approach with caution though, and let Halladay demonstrate his health before inserting him into lineups.

Roy Halladay (shoulder) will head to the Phillies' spring training complex in Clearwater, Florida on Thursday. Halladay threw a five-inning bullpen session on Monday evening and came out of it feeling strong. He'll start facing live hitters down in Florida and could rejoin the Phillies' starting rotation at some point in late August or early September if all continues to go well. The veteran righty underwent shoulder surgery in mid-May.

Roy Halladay (shoulder) threw a five-inning bullpen session Monday. Doc will throw one more pen session before presumably progressing to either a simulated game or possibly a rehab assignment. Recovering from surgery to remove a bone spur in his shoulder and repair his torn rotator cuff, Halladay is hoping to rejoin the Phillies' rotation in late August or early September.

Roy Halladay (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Sunday. It's the first time he's thrown from the mound since undergoing shoulder surgery in May. For what it's worth, CSN Philly's Jim Salisbury said the catcher's miss was "popping pretty good" during Doc's throwing session. The Phillies are hoping to get the right-hander back in their rotation by late August.

Roy Halladay (shoulder) played catch on Monday. It's the first time he's done so since undergoing shoulder surgery last month. Phillies pitching coach Rich Dubee was very pleased with what he saw. "It looks very, very good," Dubee said. "The arm action, he's able to get his arm back up very easily. No effort at all. Whereas before because of the stuff that he had going on in his shoulder, he couldn't get it up on a consistent basis. But now his arm slot is fantastic and he's doing very very well so far. He's a long ways from pitching, but everything so far is going to according to plan." Halladay is hoping to rejoin the Phillies rotation by late August.

Phillies transferred RHP Roy Halladay from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. The move clears a spot for Michael Martinez on the 40-man roster. It won't have any impact on Halladay's timeline, as he had shoulder surgery earlier this month and is unlikely to make it back until late August at the earliest.

Roy Halladay (shoulder) could rejoin the Phillies' rotation in late August if everything progresses on schedule. Halladay, who had surgery last week to remove a bone spur in his shoulder and repair his torn rotator cuff, reported to extended spring training Monday to begin his rehab. General manager Ruben Amaro said Doc has pretty good range of motion and is "pretty positive." Obviously late August is so far away that it's just a rough timetable, but, given Halladay's famous work ethic, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him pitching later this season.

Roy Halladay underwent surgery on Wednesday to remove a bone spur in his shoulder and repair his rotator cuff. Halladay is hoping to resume throwing in 6-8 weeks and will try to make it back before the end of the 2013 season. The right-hander had an 8.65 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 35/17 K/BB ratio over his first 34 1/3 innings this season. He can be dropped in all non-keeper leagues.

Roy Halladay will have surgery next Wednesday to have a bone spur removed from his right shoulder as well as a partially torn rotator cuff and frayed labrum repaired. The operation will be performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache. Halladay is optimistic that he will return to pitch later this season, but it's not a given.
