Nolasco (1-2) gave up two runs on eight hits while striking out three over six innings in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
The long ball continues to plague Nolasco as both runs he allowed Tuesday came on solo shots, and he's now served up an ugly seven homers in just four starts (22.2 innings) to begin the season, The veteran right-hander's 17:3 K:BB is nice, but it comes with the risk of a highly inflated ERA. His next start will come Sunday at home against the Blue Jays.

Nolasco allowed five runs on five hits through five innings during Thursday's loss to Texas.
EDGE Analysis
The only saving grace from Nolasco were his seven punchouts, but the 34-year-old veteran has now allowed five home runs on the season and sports a 5.40 ERA. There will be a handful of matchups where Nolasco has the potential to provide serviceable fantasy results, but he probably tops out as a streaming option in the majority of seasonal leagues or low-priced flier in daily contests.

Nolasco held the Mariners to two runs on four hits over six innings Saturday. He walked one and struck out three but did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran was able to notch his first quality start of the season after missing the cutoff by one out in his last outing. Home runs continue to be an issue for the 34-year-old, as he gave up another one after surrendering two on Opening Day. Nolasco, however, limited the damage elsewhere, preserving his deep-league value for his next start against the Rangers at home on Thursday.

Nolasco (0-1) surrendered three runs on seven hits over 5.2 innings Monday. He walked two batters and struck out four in an Opening Day loss to the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran pitcher was formidable for the majority of the night, working around walks and singles to keep the Angels in the game. It was a pair of solo homers that eventually did the 34-year-old in, ending his night one out short of a quality start. The long ball has always been an issue for the righty, finishing with a HR/9 above 1.0 for seven of his 11 major league seasons. Despite Nolasco's shaky track record, there could be some deep-league value left in his arm in the right matchups. His next scheduled outing will come against the Mariners this Saturday.

Nolasco has been tabbed as the Angels' Opening Day starter.
EDGE Analysis
Nolasco will take the ball Monday against the A's as the Angels open up a four-game set against their division rival. The veteran Nolasco put together a solid spring with a 3.52 ERA over 15.1 innings. As the Opening Day starter, Nolasco should be in line for two starts in the first week of the season.

Nolasco gave up two runs over three innings in a Triple-A game Monday. He struck out six batters without issuing a walk.
EDGE Analysis
The 34-year-old remains a lock for the Angels' Opening Day rotation, but it is unclear which spot he will have in the order. Nolasco is a low-end fantasy starter who has only posted an ERA below four twice in his 11-year career. What the veteran does bring to the table is an ability to eat innings and stay in the zone with his pitches (3.0 K/BB or higher in three of his last four seasons). He's really only a deep-league option at this point, but he could have value in standard leagues as a streaming option in the right matchups.

Nolasco plans on throwing more two-seam fastballs than four-seam fastballs this season, The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nolasco attributes his success with the Angels last season (3.21 ERA) to leaning on his two-seam fastball. Two-seamers usually sacrifice a mile or two per hour in velocity in exchange for added movement. Surprisingly, Nolasco's two-seam (90.3 mph) and four-seam (90.4 mph) were nearly identical in velocity last season, despite throwing both pitches over 750 times each. The veteran pitcher hasn't had a full-season ERA under four since 2013, so he won't be on many fantasy radars to begin the year. That being said, if he can repeat the success he attained after joining the Angels last season, then he would quickly generate deep league intrigue.

Nolasco is considered one of the Angels' top four starters heading into spring training, Jose Mota of MLB Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nolasco had a bit of a renaissance season with the Twins and the Angels lasts season, posting a 4.42 ERA and 1.24 WHIP across 197.2 innings. While those numbers aren't making fantasy owners line up to draft him, they were certainly an improvement over his totals from the two previous seasons. While the Angels may consider him a pitcher worth relying on every fifth day, fantasy owners can certainly find better options in drafts this year.

Nolasco (8-14) allowed one unearned run on five hits and two walks over eight innings in a win Tuesday over the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Nolasco is ending the season on absolute fire. He hasn't allowed an earned run in his past three starts, and he also threw a complete game shutout August 31 against the Reds. He owns a 1.47 ERA with a 31:8 K:BB innings since then, a performance that should all but certainly earn him a spot in the Angels rotation next season.

Nolasco (7-14) allowed no runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five on Thursday in a 2-0 win over the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
While the first half of Nolasco's season with Minnesota was disastrous by almost any measure, he has produced some respectable fantasy numbers in his 10 starts since being traded to the Angels in July. He's now 2-2 in September with a WHIP just above 1.00, and he hasn't allowed a run in 13 innings over his last two starts. The key drivers of his resurgence include a significantly lower home run rate and improved defensive play behind him (.226 BABIP).
