Nolasco had another start ruined by his bullpen. Just like his last start, he allowed the first two batters of the seventh to reach base, and also like his last start, the bullpen allowed those runners to score. Unfortunately, neither the Angels bullpen nor Mike Scioscia's judgement are worth trusting, and as such, Nolasco's fantasy prospects aren't worth trusting either. His ERA sits at 4.94.

Nolasco (5-13) allowed three runs on just two walks and two hits with five strikeouts over seven innings in Tuesday's loss to the Athletics.

Nolasco had thrown seven shutout innings, giving him a 16-inning scoreless streak after dominating the Reds with a complete game shutout Wednesday, before things unraveled in the eighth. Nolasco gave up a walk, single and a walk to load the bases before he was lifted for Mike Morin, who promptly gave up a pair of hits to score all three runners and give the Athletics the lead. It wasn't a pitch count issue -- Nolasco threw just 91 -- he just didn't have enough to keep fooling the Athletics a full four times through the order.

Nolasco (5-12) harnessed his younger self, dominating the Reds in a four-hit shutout Wednesday. He struck out seven.

EDGE Analysis

Nolasco's first win as an Angel was his fifth career shutout, and his first since September of 2012. The righty's seven strikeouts were his most in six starts since debuting with the Angels on Aug. 4. Nolasco was fantastically efficient, throwing 67 of 94 pitches for strikes, including 23 of 30 first-pitch strikes. As great as his outing was, fantasy owners shouldn't put too much stock in the 33-year-old's performance Wednesday. Nolasco is still in the midst of a career-worst season and the Reds lineup is nothing to write home about. He'll make his next start Monday in Oakland.

Nolasco (4-12) gave up four earned runs on nine hits and three walks over 6.1 innings in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Tigers. He struck out two.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran righty actually turned in a solid effort overall, but couldn't muster much help from his offense on a night where opposing starter Justin Verlander was in vintage form. Nolasco breezed through the first five innings before giving up an RBI double to J.D. Martinez and a two-run shot to Justin Upton in the sixth. Cam Maybin then touched him up for a 347-foot solo blast in the seventh, ending Nolasco's night. The 33-year-old has now dropped four straight decisions and has yet to notch a victory in an Angels uniform, despite pitching at least six innings in four of his five starts. He'll try to get into the win column when he takes on the Reds next Wednesday.

Nolasco has been predictably mediocre since he was dealt to the Angels. Despite a solid 13:4 K:BB, Nolasco has now allowed a 5.19 EERA and 1.38 WHIP over 17.1 innings. He was tagged for a home run by Nelson Cruz, giving him four homers allowed in just three starts. Too many hits and too many homers -- these are the same problems he had in Minnesota and has had for much of his career, and there's little reason to expect he'll turn it around now.

Nolasco (4-9) struck out six while allowing the Cubs just two runs on six hits and a walk in six innings Wednesday, but was stuck with a hard-luck loss.

EDGE Analysis

This was much better than his first outing after being dealt to Anaheim -- a three-homer, five-run effort against Oakland. We've seen Nolasco turn in a handful of finely polished outings like this one in 2016, but they've been mixed in with enough blowups that he remains impossible to deploy in most fantasy formats. Nolasco will next toe the rubber against Seattle on Monday.

While Nolasco didn't walk a batter, he was still rather lucky to escape with just the five earned runs allowed -- all three homers he served up were solo shots. The 33-year-old tossed eight innings of one-run ball in his final start for Minnesota on July 29, but he's mostly struggled since April, and Nolasco lines up to face the Cubs (in Chicago) next week. That's probably one to avoid.

Nolasco will get his first start with the Angels as the team faces Oakland on Thursday, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.

Nolasco was traded to the Angels on Monday, and will take the mound Thursday with Tim Lincecum starting Friday against the Mariners. Throughout the 2016 season, Nolasco has posted a 4-8 record with a 5.13 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP for the Twins.

The Angels are also receiving Alex Meyer in the trade, which sends Hector Santiago to Minnesota along with reliever Alan Busenitz. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Twins are believed to be sending cash to the Angels to offset some of the remaining money on Nolasco's contract, which runs through the end of 2017. Nolasco figures to slot into an Angels rotation that has been ravaged by injuries this season.

EDGE Analysis

Friday was by far Nolasco's best effort of the season. He set or matched his season-best marks for innings pitched, runs allowed and hits against. It's been a miserable campaign for the veteran, and the fact that Nolasco walked away from Friday's gem with a no-decision just about sums up his luck this season. He'll take a 5.40 ERA into Cleveland on Wednesday for his next start.
