Porcello (12-10) earned the win against Colorado on Tuesday, hurling five innings and giving up two runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
Porcello held the Rockies scoreless through four innings and departed after giving up a pair of runs in the fifth. Although he allowed eight hits, he found success by controlling the zone, tossing first-pitch strikes to 16 of 22 batters and refusing to issue a free pass. After an unsteady July in which Porcello posted a 7.94 ERA, he has pitched much more effectively in August, collecting three wins and compiling a 4.00 ERA over 27 innings. He'll have another road start when he faces the Angels on Sunday.

Porcello (11-10) took the loss Wednesday, giving up three runs on three hits and four walks over five innings while striking out three as the Red Sox fell 5-2 to the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
A light rain fell throughout the game, which may have contributed to the 12 free passes and three wild pitches issued by the two staffs combined, and Porcello himself has only walked more than two batters in a start one other time since June 1. The right-hander will carry a 5.49 ERA and 112:42 K:BB through 144.1 innings into his next outing Tuesday, on the road at Coors Field.

Porcello (11-9) picked up the win in Friday's 9-1 rout of the Orioles, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over six innings while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has been alternating decent starts with bad ones since the All-Star break, but the aggregate result (5.90 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 28:7 K:BB through 39.2 innings) isn't very encouraging despite a 5-2 record over that stretch. Porcello will look to break the pattern in his next outing Wednesday, at home against the Phillies.

Manager Alex Cora confirmed that Porcello would remain in Boston's rotation and make his next start Friday against the Orioles, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
The struggling Andrew Cashner was moved to the bullpen Monday, but Porcello will be spared a demotion for now despite delivering only two quality starts among his last nine turns and posting an 8.28 ERA and 1.66 WHIP over that span. Porcello's season-long numbers haven't been dramatically better, but his track record of serviceable production in addition to Boston's lack of appealing and/or healthy alternatives will aid his job security. While a matchup with the lowly Orioles represents a good bounce-back opportunity for Porcello, the right-hander hasn't done much lately to show that he can be trusted as a streaming option even in seemingly ideal spots.

Porcello (10-9) allowed five runs on five hits with no walks and three strikeouts across five innings while taking a loss against the Angels on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The Angels possessed a four-run lead when Porcello left, and then Los Angeles tagged the Red Sox bullpen for seven more runs in the seventh. Porcello's biggest problem remains the same, as he's yielded 13 home runs in his last eight outings. During that stretch, Porcello has actually only lost twice, but he owns an 8.39 ERA. Overall, he has a 5.67 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 107 strikeouts and 1.7 HR/9 in 133.1 innings this season. Porcello will look to end his home run struggles in his next start at home against the Orioles on Friday.

Porcello (10-8) picked up the win in Monday's 7-5 victory over the Royals, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over six innings while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was in control, not even allowing a baserunner past second base until the sixth inning as he threw 99 pitches (67 strikes). Porcello now has 10 quality starts on the season, and he'll carry a 5.54 ERA and 104:36 K:BB through 128.1 innings into his next outing Saturday, at home against the Angels.

Porcello (9-8) took the loss Wednesday as the Red Sox were toppled 8-5 by the Rays, coughing up six runs on nine hits -- including three home runs -- and a walk over 5.2 innings while striking out seven.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander saw his four-start winning streak snapped, but Porcello was on borrowed time anyway. He's been taken deep in six straight outings, stumbling to a 9.73 ERA and 1.85 WHIP over that stretch despite the wins, and he'll look to get back on track in his next start Monday, at home against the Royals.

Porcello (9-7) earned the win Thursday after holding the Yankees to three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five over six innings.
EDGE Analysis
After failing to get through the first inning during his last start against the Yankees in London, Porcello bounced back with a solid outing while getting tremendous run support from his offense to claim a 19-3 win at Fenway Park. Despite a tough 47-pitch second inning, the right-hander settled in to keep a volatile Yankees lineup at bay, throwing 112 pitches in all. His only major blemish of the night came from a solo home run by Kyle Higashioka in the fifth. The 30-year-old will carry a 5.55 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 92:33 K:BB into a Wednesday matchup against Tampa Bay.

Porcello (8-7) allowed six earned runs on 11 hits and a walk while striking out four across five innings to earn the win Saturday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Porcello didn't pitch well, surrendering two home runs and four additional extra-base hits. However, the Red Sox scored 17 runs, helping him to his eighth win of the campaign. That shouldn't mask Porcello's poor showings of late as he's allowed four or more earned runs in five consecutive starts. As a result, he has a bloated 5.61 ERA and 1.46 WHIP across 110.2 innings for the season. He'll look to turn things around in his next start, currently scheduled Thursday against the Yankees.

Porcello (7-7) picked up the win Monday in a 10-8 victory over the Blue Jays, giving up four runs on eight hits over six innings while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has been tagged for at least four runs in each of his last four starts, stumbling to a 10.50 ERA over that stretch, but he still boasts a 2-1 record in that time thanks to the Boston offense. Porcello will look to right the ship in his next outing Saturday in Baltimore.
