Leake (8-8) threw a one-hit, one-walk complete-game shutout with six strikeouts to claim a 10-0 win against the Angels on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Leake came within three outs of throwing a perfect game after retiring his first 24 batters, but the Angels broke it up in the ninth inning with a single by Luis Rengifo and a walk by Kevan Smith. Even still, Leake ended the dominant performance by fanning Mike Trout to earn his fifth career complete game and second career shutout. Meanwhile, Seattle's offense provided tremendous run support as the Mariners snapped a six-game losing streak. It was a huge turnaround from Leake's last start against the Angels on July 12, when he failed to escape the first inning after surrendering seven runs (four earned). These contrasting performances tell the story of the inconsistency plaguing Leake this season. The 31-year-old will carry a 4.27 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 91:19 K:BB into a showdown Wednesday against the Rangers.

Leake (7-8) was charged with loss at Angel Stadium on Friday, recording just two outs while surrendering seven runs (four earned) on eight hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
The Angels got to Leake right away with a leadoff double by David Fletcher and it all went downhill from there. Leake then allowed a two-run homer to Mike Trout, and worked through the entire lineup before facing Trout again, this time giving up a two-run double. That would be the final damage of the night for the 31-year-old, who left the game after 47 pitches with two outs and the bases loaded. It was a surprising turn of events for Leake, who lasted 7.2 innings with seven strikeouts in his last outing against the Cardinals before the All-Star break. The right-hander falls to 1-2 in three starts against the Angels this season and now owns a 4.60 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 83:17 K:BB

Leake will start Friday's game against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander will get the nod to kick off the second half for the Mariners, following a stellar showing against the Cardinals in his last game before the All-Star break. Leake fired 7.2 scoreless innings in that outing, lowering his ERA to 4.32 in the process. Greg Johns of MLB.com reports that Leake is one of Seattle's likeliest trade candidates, and how he performs in the next couple of outings will either enhance or depress his overall value.

Leake did not factor in the decision during Wednesday's loss despite holding the Cardinals scoreless over 7.2 innings while scattering five hits and seven strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Leake put on quite a show in front of his former team, blanking the Cardinals without issuing any free passes. The right-hander punched out Yadier Molina and Kolten Wong in the eighth inning and probably would have stayed in if he hadn't allowed a single to Harrison Bader on his 96th pitch. Regardless, Leake exited the game in line for the win with a 2-0 lead, which was completely destroyed by the bullpen. On the bright side, the 31-year-old has not issued any walks in eight of his 18 starts. He'll carry a 4.32 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 83:17 K:BB into the All-Star break.

Leake (7-7) gave up four runs in six innings and took the loss against the Brewers on Thursday. He allowed eight hits and one walk while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
Leake actually performed far better than in his last outing, when he earned a win despite allowing seven earned runs. However, he was done in Thursday by a four-run fourth inning, with the big blow coming by way of a three-run home run off the bat off Orlando Arcia. The blast continued a season-long trend of serving up longballs away from home; Leake has now given up 19 homers in 62 road innings while allowing only four in 45 innings at home. He'll be back in the friendly confines of T-Mobile Park for his next scheduled start against the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Leake (7-6) got the win Friday, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on 11 hits over 5.1 innings in a 10-9 win over the Orioles. He struck out two batters.
EDGE Analysis
Leake only had two bad innings, allowing three runs in the opening frame and then getting into a jam in the sixth inning before Cory Gearrin relieved him. The crooked line brings him to a 4.54 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 71 strikeouts in 101 innings. The right-hander will try to keep a cleaner line versus the hard-hitting Brewers on Thursday.

Leake (6-6) earned the win against Oakland on Sunday, completing seven innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits. He struck out seven and did not issue any walks.
EDGE Analysis
Both earned runs allowed by Leake came on solo home runs. Aside from those mistakes, the 31-year-old kept Oakland hitters mostly off-kilter, throwing 67 of his 97 pitches for strikes and whiffing seven while refusing to issue a walk for the sixth time this season. With his winning effort Sunday, Leake has now pitched at least seven innings in each of his last four starts after failing to do so in 10 of his first 11 starts to start the season. He'll look to keep the strong stretch going Friday when he faces the Orioles at home in his next scheduled start.

Leake didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Twins, allowing three runs on six hits over seven innings while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander missed picking up his third straight win and sixth of the season when the Seattle bullpen once again fell apart late. Leake now has nine quality starts in 14 trips to the mound, and he'll take a 4.26 ERA and 62:!6 K:BB through 88.2 innings into his next outing Sunday in Oakland.

Leake (5-6) threw a complete game to earn the win Wednesday after holding the Astros to one run on six hits and two walks while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
Coming off one of his best starts of the season, Leake decided to turn in an even better performance against the Astros with a stellar complete game performance to help snap Seattle's four-game losing streak as the Mariners rolled to a 14-1 victory. Leake had gone 0-3 with a 5.55 ERA in his four starts against Houston in 2018, but Wednesday was a different story. It took the right-hander 119 pitches to finish the outing and pick up his second straight win. Leake did get into some trouble in the first inning after loading up the bases and allowing a sacrifice fly to give the Astros the first lead of the game, but he steadied himself the rest of the way while his teammates provided more than enough run support. The 31-year-old has pieced together quality outings in eight of his 13 starts this season, and has pitched six-plus innings 10 times. He'll carry a 4.30 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 56:16 K:BB into a Tuesday showdown against the Twins.

Leake (4-6) pitched seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out two. He earned the win in Friday's 4-3 win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
After allowing 12 runs over his last two starts, Leake found success back at home. Leake improved to a 4.71 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with 51 strikeouts in 72.2 innings this season. The 31-year-old is set for a tough matchup versus the Astros on Wednesday for his next start.
