Leake (0-2) allowed five earned runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out one across five innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Leake stumbled in the first inning, allowing the first three batters he faced to reach base and resulting in two earned runs. He was hit hard again two innings later when he allowed five of six batters to reach base in the middle of the frame, accounting for his final three earned runs. Leake has been horrific since being acquired by Arizona, surrendering 19 earned runs across 21.1 frames in the span of four starts. He'll look to get on track in his next outing, currently scheduled for Monday at San Francisco.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo thinks Leake needs to adjust his pitch selection, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Leake, who starts Wednesday's series finale against the Rockies, has been hammered since joining Arizona, having allowed 29 hits and 14 earned runs in 16.1 innings. Lovullo feels he's leaving too many pitches over the plate in pitcher-friendly counts, which leads to the loud contact. "I just think he needs to be a little bit more stubborn once he gets ahead of hitters," Lovullo said, adding that the right-hander has been "very receptive" to some of the information the club has given him.

Leake took a no-decision during Friday's loss to the Giants, allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out three over six innings.
EDGE Analysis
The long ball proved to be Leake's nemesis once again, accounting for all four of his runs allowed. The 31-year-old served up a pair of home runs in the third inning to Brandon Belt and Mike Yastrzemski, then surrendered a two-run homer to Kevin Pillar in the fourth. Not surprisingly, Leake did not issue any free passes for the 11th time this year. However, he has allowed 34 homers, the most in the majors. The right-hander now owns a troubling 7.71 ERA and 1.96 WHIP with a solid 108:22 K:BB. He'll look to move back into the win column Wednesday against the Rockies.

Leake (9-9) allowed eight runs on 10 hits with two walks and two strikeouts across five innings while taking a loss against the Dodgers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
In two starts with the Diamondbacks since the trade deadline deal that sent him from Seattle to Arizona, Leake has allowed 21 hits in 10.1 innings. Giving up a lot of hits is nothing new for Leake this year, though, as opposing hitters own a .290 batting average against him. Leake, who will face the Giants at home Friday, has a 4.58 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 105 strikeouts in 147.1 innings this season.

Leake is listed as the Diamondbacks' scheduled starter for Sunday's game against the Dodgers, Jack Magruder of the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Arizona will take advantage of Thursday's off day to rearrange the rotation ahead of its three-game set in Los Angeles this weekend. Catching the division-leading Dodgers is an unattainable goal at this point, but the Diamondbacks will need to steal some wins from tough opponents to stay in the thick of the jam-packed race for two wild-card spots. With that in mind, Leake will be moved up a day in the schedule to draw a tougher assignment, while the struggling Merrill Kelly will be denied a two-start week and instead get pushed back to Monday, when he'll take on a reeling Rockies squad at Coors Field.

Leake didn't factor into the decision against the Phillies on Tuesday, giving up three runs (two earned) on 11 hits over 5.2 innings, striking out three and walking one in an 8-4 victory for the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
It was the second straight start in which Leake has yielded double-digit hits, but he did a good job working out of trouble, as he limited the damage to two earned and emerged with a respectable final stat line. The 31-year-old right-hander now sports a 4.24 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP through 142.1 innings on the season -- numbers that are right about in line with his career averages.

Leake is listed as the Diamondbacks' probable pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
He'll be making his Arizona debut in the second game of the series with Philadelphia, effectively filling the rotation spot of Zack Greinke, who was sent to Houston in a deadline-day deal last week. Leake ended his tenure with the Mariners on a high note, posting a 3.00 ERA and 1.17 WHIP across his final five starts with the club.

Leake was traded from the Mariners to the Diamondbacks on Wednesday in exchange for Jose Caballero, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Leake will replace Zack Greinke -- who was traded to the Astros on Wednesday -- in Arizona's rotation. Prior to getting traded, the 31-year-old Leake went 9-8 with a 4.34 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 100:19 K:BB in 22 starts (137 innings) with the Mariners. It remains to be seen who will replace him in Seattle's rotation.

Leake didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Rangers, giving up five runs on 10 hits over 5.2 innings while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander didn't do much to enhance his trade value, taking a 5-1 lead into the sixth inning before unraveling. Leake now sports a 4.40 ERA and 100:19 K:BB through 137 innings on the year, but the time and place of his next start will depend on whether he's still a Mariner after the trade deadline.

Leake (9-8) earned the win Wednesday versus Texas after allowing three runs on nine hits across seven innings. He struck out seven and walked none.
EDGE Analysis
Leake was essentially hurt by one pitch Wednesday as Rougned Odor's three-run homer in the sixth inning proved to be the Rangers only runs of the day. The 31-year-old has been up-and-down all season, which is reflected in his 4.25 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 21 starts. Leake lines up to face the Rangers again next week.
