Garza (6-7) served up eight runs (seven earned) on nine hits and two walks with two strikeouts over 4.1 innings as he took the loss Friday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Garza was hammered at Coors Field, as the Rockies touched him up for three home runs. This marks the second time in Garza's past three starts that he has given up at least three bombs, and he has watched his ERA balloon from 3.68 to 4.81 in that short span. Getting away from Coors Field should help Garza, but this is his third straight season with a HR/9 of at least 1.0, so it may not be a problem that will ever disappear entirely.

Garza will take the hill for Friday's series opener against the Rockies, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although Garza was originally slated to pitch Saturday, manager Craig Counsell decided to switch the 33-year-old with Brandon Woodruff due to upcoming matchups in the future. This will place Garza on the mound with normal rest after he earned a victory against the Reds on Sunday, allowing three earned runs over 5.1 innings.

Garza (6-6) beat the Reds on Sunday while allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits with five walks and two strikeouts over 5.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Control was an issue for Garza throughout this one, as he set a new season high in walks while also hitting a batter and allowing a run to score on a wild pitch. Despite the underwhelming performance, the veteran righty was able to even his record thanks to seven runs of offensive support in the first five innings. His K/9 fell to a measly 6.05 after this game, so Garza will have almost no upside in his next start Saturday at Colorado's hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Garza (5-6) allowed eight runs on eight hits and two walks over 3.1 innings during Tuesday's loss to the Twins. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Garza posted scoreless frames in the first and second innings before allowing a pair of runs to come across in the third. Things completely fell apart in the fourth for the veteran, as he served up three home runs in the inning, including a grand slam to Brian Dozier. Garza entered Tuesday's game with a respectable 3.68 ERA but exited with a more telling 4.34 ERA. He'll look to bounce back in his upcoming start against the Reds on Sunday.

Garza (5-5) allowed a single run on four hits and two walks while striking out four batters through 5.2 innings during Thursday's win over St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
Garza needed a stint on the disabled list following his previous start (July 21), but proved he had recovered from the lower leg strain that caused him to miss a start with a solid outing Thursday. For the year, the veteran righty boasts an admirable 3.68 ERA and 1.25 WHIP, but his 6.1 K/9 leaves a lot to be desired. There are still plenty of deep settings where he's a serviceable fantasy asset, though. A road date against the Twins is up next for Garza.

Garza (lower leg) was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list prior to Thursday's outing against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Garza returns to the mound after needing a brief stay on the DL with a right lower leg strain that caused him to miss one start. The 33-year-old's bullpens have gone well over the past week, and he should be able pitch without any strict limitations. Even if manager Craig Counsell decides to keep Garza on a pitch count, the right-hander has only been able to last past the sixth inning on three occasions this season, and just once since May 6. The Brewers optioned Wei-Chung Wang back to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Wednesday in order to clear up a roster spot for Garza.

Garza (lower leg) will start Thursday's game against the Cardinals, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Garza's bullpens have gone without issue to this point, so the Brewers are confident enough in his health to give him the assignment for Thursday's start. As of now, he's lined up to face right-hander Michael Wacha in the series finale.

Garza (lower leg) is hopeful to come off the 10-day disabled list to start Thursday against the Cardinals, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Garza was able to throw his second bullpen session Monday without any apparent issue and was considered a candidate to start Wednesday, but the Brewers instead elected to move Brent Suter up a day in the schedule to take the hill that day. The Brewers likely just wanted to grant Garza some more recovery time, so if he experiences no setbacks over the next two days, he should be cleared to pitch in the series finale. Garza's 3.83 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over 82.1 innings this season have made him a decent deep-league streaming option for soft matchups, but with his strikeout rate sitting at a career-worst 6.1 K/9, there isn't much further upside to be mined.

Garza (lower leg) will throw a second bullpen session Monday, Sophia Minnaert of Fox Sports Wisconsin reports.
EDGE Analysis
Garza was able to throw a bullpen session Saturday with no apparent issues, so if he's able to make it through Monday's activity without incident, the Brewers could plug him back in for one of the two openings in their rotation for games Wednesday or Thursday, both against the Cardinals. The Brewers are surely eager to get the right-hander back from the 10-day disabled list after suffering their most embarrassing loss of the season when Garza missed his scheduled start last Thursday against the Nationals, as fill-in starter Michael Blazek served up six home runs -- including five in the third inning -- in a 15-2 loss.

Garza (lower leg) hopes to miss just one start while he's on the disabled list, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Accoriding to McCalvy, the veteran injured his calf running on the side one of the days after his most recent start, and he decided a DL stint was necessary after having trouble pushing off it during bullpen sessions on Sunday and Tuesday. Michael Blazek will start Thursday's contest in his stead, but look for Garza to work toward a return for August 5's game against the Rays.
