Gonzalez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez is on the bench for the sixth game in a row and doesn't look as though he'll have a much clearer path to playing time even after the Yankees moved Joey Gallo to the Dodgers on Tuesday. Gallo had already fallen into a reserve role for the Yankees, with Matt Carpenter having taken on increased duties in the corner outfield alongside the likes of Andrew Benintendi, Aaron Hicks and Aaron Judge. Gonzalez will likely see his opportunities take a further hit once Giancarlo Stanton (Achilles) and trade-deadline pickup Harrison Bader (foot) make their returns from the injured list.

Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 2-1 win over the A's.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran utility man's second-inning solo shot proved to the the difference for New York, as Oakland scratched across a run during the ninth inning to cut the deficit to one run. Gonzalez went without a homer in his first 34 games of the season, but in his past eight contests he's gone 7-for-21 with three long balls, two doubles, five RBI and four runs scored.

Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a double, a two-run home run, two runs scored and two RBI in a 5-4 loss to the Rays on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez had a good night at the plate and his home run off Colin Poche brought the Yankees to within a run in the top of the ninth. He now has two home runs and seven RBI on the year. Gonzalez is a bench player whose share of playing time is limited over the long term, but he could continue to see action while Isiah Kiner-Falefa is day-to-day with a hamstring issue.

Gonzalez will start in left field and bat eighth in Tuesday's game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez will stick in the lineup for the fourth game in a row, this time filling in for a resting Aaron Judge. In the previous two contests, Gonzalez had started at shortstop while Isiah Kiner-Falefa (hamstring) was sidelined. Gleyber Torres will cover shortstop Tuesday with Kiner-Falefa still out of the lineup, so Gonzalez could still have an avenue to playing time Wednesday when Judge checks back into the starting nine.

Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Sunday in a loss to the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez joined the party that is the homer-happy Yankees offense, swatting his first long ball in his 35th game with the club. His sixth-inning solo shot gave New York a temporary 8-3 lead, but Toronto stormed back to erase that deficit by the end of the seventh frame. Gonzalez is slashing .243/.305/.351 on the campaign and has primarily filled a utility bench role.

Gonzalez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Before taking a seat in Saturday's 3-1 loss, Gonzalez had made seven consecutive starts at either third base or in left field, going a collective 4-for-22 at the dish. Even though the Yankees are down two lineup regulars in Josh Donaldson (shoulder) and Giancarlo Stanton (ankle), Gonzalez still looks like he might be limited to a part-time role. Gleyber Torres has resurfaced as an everyday player in the infield while Donaldson is on the shelf, and Miguel Andujar will pick up his sixth consecutive start in the outfield as a replacement for Stanton.

Gonzalez will start at third base and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
After getting two straight starts in left field to close out the weekend series with the White Sox while Joey Gallo was out with an illness that later resulted in him being placed on the COVID-19-related injured list, Gonzalez will shift to the infield for the Yankees' series opener with Baltimore. Third base opened up for Gonzalez with both DJ LeMahieu and Josh Donaldson heading to the bench, but both players are likely just getting routine maintenance following Sunday's doubleheader. Left field still looks to be Gonzalez's main path to regular playing time while Gallo is on the shelf.

Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a run and an RBI in Tuesday's 9-1 victory against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez featured in a big six-run seventh inning for the Yankees, driving in a run with a double and later coming around to score. This was his first multi-hit performance of the season, though that's understandable since most of his appearances thus far have come off the bench. Gonzalez is slashing .308/.333/.538 with four runs and three RBI across 15 plate appearances. Three of his four hits have gone for doubles.

The Yankees selected Gonzalez's contract Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Gonzalez has made the Yankees' Opening Day roster as the team's top utility man. Though Gonzalez has seen most of his big-league action as an infielder, he could see most of his initial opportunities in the outfield, given that the Yankees have all of Anthony Rizzo, DJ LeMahieu, Josh Donaldson, Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Gleyber Torres on hand as infield options.

Gonzalez told Marly Rivera of ESPN.com on Tuesday that he was notified by Yankees manager Aaron Boone of his addition to the Opening Day roster.
EDGE Analysis
The move isn't yet official, and the Yankees will need to clear a spot for Gonzalez on the 40-man roster if his addition does indeed move forward. The veteran figures to add a super-utility presence to the club's roster, as he is capable of playing all over the infield and in both corner outfield spots. Gonzalez was one of the team's top hitters this spring, slashing .375/.400/.792 with three home runs, 10 RBI and five runs across 23 plate appearances.
