Valbuena is out of the lineup Wednesday against Oakland, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the left-handed Sean Manaea headed to the hill for the A's, Valbuena will be withheld from Wednesday's lineup. Cliff Pennington will fill in at the hot corner and hit seventh in place of Valbuena.

Valbuena's lone hit in five plate appearances Monday left the yard for a three-run home run in an 11-9 victory over the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Valbuena has been on a mission to make up for a poor first half with 12 homers and 30 RBI in 38 games following the All-Star break. The 31-year-old is still batting a meager .227 over that span, but he is finally delivering on the "all" portion of the all-or-nothing label that has been placed on him as a hitter. Valbuena may not fit into every fantasy owner's plans, but he certainly has a place on teams desperate for a boost in homers.

Valbuena is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rangers, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
As is customary, Valbuena will be on the bench Sunday with a lefty (Martin Perez) on the hill for the opposition. C.J. Cron will cover first base while Valbuena rests.

Valbuena is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
With lefty Cole Hamels toeing the rubber for Texas, Valbuena will head to the bench in favor of Cliff Pennington at third base. Valbuena posted an .865 OPS in August on the strength of six homers, but he's just 3-for-25 against southpaws this year and is still barely above the Mendoza Line against righties.

Valbuena went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer during Sunday's 7-5 loss to the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Valbuena's sixth-inning bomb off Joe Musgrove gave his team a 5-4 lead, but Houston was able to turn the tables with three runs in the eighth. The Venezuelan infielder has been on a power binge of late, as six of Valbuena's 17 home runs have come in his past 11 games.

Valbuena is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Valbuena will head to the bench as the opposition sends out a southpaw starter (Martin Perez). In his place, Jefry Marte will start at the hot corner, batting sixth.

Valbuena went 2-for-4 with his 16th home run and four RBI in a loss to the Rangers on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran third baseman has been on fire over his last six starts, batting .429 (9-for-20) with five homers and 11 RBI over that span. Valbuena had a rough first half of the season (.185/.267/.318), but he is batting .253 with an impressive 1.024 on-base plus slugging percentage since the All-Star break. Fantasy owners in need of power should ride the 31-year-old's bat until he cools off.

Valbuena went 2-for-3 with two homers, a walk and three RBI Saturday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Valbuena's 14th homer came in the second inning to give the Angels a lead they'd never relinquish while his 15th homer came two innings later to provide the team with two additional insurance runs. He's now homered in three of his last four games, and despite a horrible .197 batting average along with a .418 slugging percentage, fantasy owners may consider writing him while he's hot.

Valbuena was back in the starting lineup Wednesday, going 2-for-3 with a double and a home run in a 3-2 win over the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
The platooned third baseman has been out of the starting lineup more often than not recently (including two straight games) with the Angels facing a heavy dose of left-handed starters. Valbuena's last two starts have come over a span of six games, but he has homered in each contest. The 31-year-old now has 13 long balls on the year, matching his total from 2016 in 11 fewer games. Valbuena should see an uptick in playing time with the Halos scheduled to face four righties in their next six contests.

Valbuena is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Southpaw Gio Gonzalez is taking the hill for the Nationals on Tuesday, marking the fourth left-handed starter the Angels have faced in their last five games. Valbuena has sat out against each of those pitchers, as manager Mike Scioscia continues to use him in a strict platoon at either third or first base. Jefry Marte will enter the lineup in his Valbuena's stead.
