Valbuena went 1-for-2 with a double and a pair of walks in Wednesday's win over Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
Valbuena has received a couple of starts at first base in place of Albert Pujols (knee), but his playing time may not come to end with the latter's expected return Friday. With Andrelton Simmons (ankle) being placed on the 10-day disabled list, the backup infielder figures to slide over to third -- with Zack Cozart filling in at short -- against right-handed pitchers. Valbuena is slashing a meager .240/.293/.383 in 167 plate appearances, and he is generally a home run or nothing type of hitter, but a semi-regular role could appeal to those in deep and AL-only formats until Simmons' ankle is healed.

Valbuena went 1-for-3 with two RBI on Sunday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Valbuena provided all the offense the Angels' pitching staff needed Sunday when he pulled a two RBI double down the right field line in the second inning. Though he has now played a big part in two Angels wins in the past week, he continues to be a part-time player for the team and his fantasy value is limited as a result.

Valbuena started at first base and went 3-for-5 with a pair of solo home runs, three RBI and a trio of runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Valbuena got the nod at first with Shohei Ohtani being absent from the lineup due to his impending start Wednesday. The veteran took full advantage of the opportunity, but these sort of power outbursts have been few and far between for the 32-year-old. Valbuena will continue to see two to three starts per week on days where Ohtani rests and a righty is on the mound, which limits his fantasy value to very deep or daily fantasy formats.

Valbuena started at third base and went 0-for-5 in Thursday's 8-1 win over the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
After beginning the season in a semi-regular role, Valbuena has fallen out of favor and started just two of the Angels' last eight contests. With Shohei Ohtani's emergence as the club's designated hitter, the veteran infielder has been limited to spot starts on days where Albert Pujols or Zack Cozart receive rest. The 32-year-old is batting .230 with four home runs in 134 plate appearances, so he isn't providing much fantasy value on days he is penciled in the lineup.

Valbuena is not in the lineup Wednesday in Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
With the game being played in a National League park, the Angels' regular lineup will be a man short. Valbuena will again be the odd man out, with Albert Pujols and Zack Cozart handling the infield corners.

Valbuena is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
With no DH spot available in a National League park, Valbuena will head to the bench for a night off. Albert Pujols and Zack Cozart will man the corners for the Angels, while Valbuena will be one of the top bats available off the bench.

Valbuena is out of the lineup against the Orioles on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Valbuena will get the night off after going 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Tuesday's victory. In his place, Shohei Ohtani will DH and bat fifth. Over 27 games this season, Valbuena is hitting .244/.270/.407 with four home runs and nine RBI.

Valbuena went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Valbuena took starter Alex Cobb deep with two outs in the sixth, and the solo shot ended up providing the margin of victory in the 3-2 win. The home run snapped a 10-game RBI-less drought, and was also just his second run scored in that span. The lefty is now hitting .244/.270/.407 and will likely continue to sit more often than not against southpaws.

Valbuena is not in the lineup Friday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Valbuena has been mired in a bit of a slump lately, having only two hits and striking out 11 times in his last 22 at-bats. The 31-year-old returns to the bench as Luis Severino takes the mound for the Yankees on Friday.

Valbuena is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
This comes as a bit of a surprise, as the Angels are facing a right-handed pitcher Tuesday evening. However, Valbuena has been struggling lately, as he has just two hits in the past seven games. He'll sit out for the evening, allowing Mike Trout to log a DH day and Chris Young to enter the starting lineup.
