J.P. Arencibia is batting just .067/.122/.067 with a 3/17 BB/K ratio over his last 11 games. The cold streak has dropped his season batting line to an ugly .211/.233/.417. Of course, Arencibia has also hit 12 homers this season, and a low average with some home run pop was all fantasy owners were hoping for. He's not a bad second catcher in fantasy leagues but is a pretty dreadful real-life hitter.

J.P. Arencibia went 0-for-3 and struck out twice Tuesday against the Giants. Arencibia's 20:1 K:BB ratio was kind of cute when he homering twice per week, but not so much anymore. He's batting .222, his OBP stands at .245 and his slugging percentage has dropped from .616 in late April to .449 now. It's past time the Jays stop batting him fifth.

J.P. Arencibia went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Thursday's 12-6 win over the Orioles. Arencibia delivered an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth, a go-ahead two-run homer in the fifth and an RBI ground out in the eighth. While the 27-year-old backstop is only hitting .230 with a .244 on-base percentage, he has 11 home runs to go along with 24 RBI. He's on pace to set career-highs in both categories.

J.P. Arencibia hit his 10th home run Wednesday in the Blue Jays' 11-3 win over the Giants. Arencibia has been doing his usual Arencibia thing this year, hitting for power but at the expense of average. The catcher now has 20 RBI and a .236 batting mark to go with his 10 homers. His power and ability to drive in runs in the Blue Jays' order make him a solid fantasy play.

J.P. Arencibia hit a two-run homer off Fernando Rodney in the top of the ninth to complete the Jays' comeback in an 8-7 win over the Rays on Monday. The Jays fell behind 7-0 in the third, but they went on to score three in the fourth, two in the sixth, one in the eighth and two in the ninth to win it. Arencibia's homer, on a fastball left over the plate, was his ninth of the year. In Rodney's defense, there's no way a guy with a 42/2 K/BB ratio would have chased a pitch a few inches outside.

J.P. Arencibia is not in Monday evening's lineup against the Rays. It's Arencibia's second off-day in three games, but he isn't known to be hurt. Asked why he was sitting, he responded with a curt "ask Gibby," as in manager John Gibbons. Arencibia's eight home runs are second amongst catchers.

J.P. Arencibia went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in a loss to the Mariners on Friday. Arencibia has just three hits in his last 23 at-bats, dropping his batting average down to .239 for the year. That's closer to what we were expecting coming into the year, but he should still be a useful option in most mixed leagues as long as the power continues.

J.P. Arencibia hit his AL-high eighth homer as part of a 3-for-5 day as the Blue Jays beat the Orioles 6-5 in 11 innings Wednesday. A Maicer Izturis bases-loaded walk scored the go-ahead run in the 11th. Along with his two-run homer today, Arencibia collected his sixth double. He has a crazy 32/2 K/BB ratio in 82 at-bats, but when he's making contact, he's hitting the ball a long way.

J.P. Arencibia slugged his seventh home run of the season in Sunday's 8-4 victory over the Yankees. Arencibia also doubled, finishing 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. The 27-year-old has a weak .250 batting average and .260 on-base percentage in 18 games this season, but his power numbers have been excellent. He should carry some amount of relevance in standard mixed fantasy leagues all season.

J.P. Arencibia went 2-for-4 with his fifth home run of the season Tuesday. Arencibia's best attribute has always been his power, and it's been on full display in the early going. His average is still respectable as well, but that's not likely to last. But the power is very real, and for that alone he deserves to be owned in deep mixed leagues.
