The difference this time is that he is expected to see most of his playing time at first base now that Carlos Pena has been designated for assignment. The 28-year-old appeared in 20 games there during his time with Triple-A Round rock.

Arencibia is a one-trick pony who offers some power and little else, but he's not a bad guy to pair with Geovany Soto.
