Arencibia will be limited for a few days due to a hand strain, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
There's no doubt Arencibia's been on a hot strak since joining the Rays, but there's a strong chance he misses some starts in the next few days. If he does, Luke Maile and Rene Rivera figure to fill in behind the plate.

Arencibia is out of the lineup Saturday against the Orioles, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Arencibia hasn't really cooled off since joining the Rays on Aug. 26, as he's been able to uphold a .354 average and .729 slugging mark while taking over as the team's primary catcher. His run of success won't last forever given his modest career performance, but those in AL-only and two-catcher leagues can ride the wave while it lasts. Fantasy players won't be able to wring much value out of Arencibia on Saturday, however, as he'll be rested in favor of Luke Maile.

Arencibia is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Yankees, Roger Mooney of The Tampa Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Arencibia has taken over the primary role behind the plate, excelling offensively to the tune of a .364/.370/.773 battling line with five home runs in 17 games. While it's likely unrealistic for him to continue at that pace, he might be worth riding while he's hot.

Arencibia launched a two-run home run in Tampa Bay's come-from-behind 8-4 win over Boston on Friday night.
EDGE Analysis
He didn't start the game, but pinch-hitting in the eighth inning, he drilled his fifth home run and helped the Rays past the Red Sox. He didn't arrive in Tampa until the end of August, and all he has done since is hit .382 with five home runs and 13 RBI. It's not likely to last, but it's been quite a ride for any fantasy owners who rolled the dice.

Arencibia continued his red-hot September Monday, launching his third home run of the month.
EDGE Analysis
Arencibia, a five-year veteran, didn't reach the Major Leagues this season until August 26. Since that promotion, the backstop has hit .346 with three blasts and 10 RBI in just 26 at-bats. With the way he's swinging the bat, Arencibia should continue to see regular at-bats down the stretch.

Arencibia went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored against Baltimore on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Arencibia's been seeing a good amount of action since being called up by Tampa, and he's answered the bell in a big way over the last two games, smashing a pair of homers among five hits and driving in seven runs. Of course, we've seen power outbursts from the veteran catcher before; they tend to be followed by horrible slumps during which his batting average craters.

Arencibia was called up from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Curt Casali (hamstring) slated to miss at least the next two weeks while on the DL, Arencibia will come up from Triple-A to split time with Rene Rivera behind the plate. However, manager Kevin Cash indicated Rivera will see the bulk of the starts until Arencibia gets acquainted with the Rays' staff. The veteran Arencibia appeared in 63 games for the Rangers last season but he hit just .177 with 62 strikeouts in 63 games. He holds a .227/.259/.443 slash line with 65 RBI for Durham this season, though his high K-rate continues to be a major issue.

Arencibia was signed by the Rays to a minor league deal Thursday, the Tampa Bay Times' Marc Topkin reports. He will report to Triple-A Durham and it would be surprising if a team as smart as the Rays opted to ever use him in the big leagues at catcher on a semi-regular basis, given his track record of being sub-replacement level.

Arencibia (arm) was released by the Orioles on Thursday, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports. Even with Matt Wieters (elbow) unavailable to start the season, Arencibia was only fourth on the organizational catching depth chart. The free-swinging veteran will likely have to settle for a Triple-A role wherever he lands, following terrible seasons in 2013 and 2014.

Arencibia was reassigned to minor league camp Monday. He had a cortisone injection due to a strained flexor mass Monday, so all in all, Arencibia has definitely had better days. While Matt Wieters (elbow) has had a setback in his recovery, the Orioles obviously prefer Caleb Joseph and Steve Clevenger to Arencibia at this point.
