Rutledge is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Cardinals, Evan Drellich of CSN New England reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Rutledge on the bench for a fourth consecutive game, it appears safe to conclude that Deven Marrero has emerged as manager John Farrell's preferred option at third base while Pablo Sandoval (knee), Marco Hernandez (shoulder) and Brock Holt (vertigo) all remain on the disabled list. Rutledge may still see a start or two per week when Farrell decides to give Marrero, Xander Bogaerts or Dustin Pedroia a day off.

Rutledge is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rays, Chad Jennings of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Before sitting out Saturday, Rutledge had performed admirably as the Red Sox's regular third baseman with Pablo Sandoval (knee), Brock Holt (vertigo) and Marco Hernandez (shoulder) all on the disabled list, batting 9-for-28 with four walks over his previous eight games. However, it appears he could be pushed for playing time at the position by Deven Merrero, who will draw his second straight start at the hot corner while Rutledge sits. Marrero came up clutch in Saturday's win, going 1-for-3 with a two-run double.

Rutledge is out of Saturday's lineup against the Rays, Tim Britton of The Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
He has started eight of the last nine games, hitting .321/.406/.321 over that span. Deven Marrero will get the start at the hot corner and hit ninth against lefty Blake Snell.

Rutledge, who's been the primary starter at third base, made three miscues during Friday's 5-4 loss to the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Rutledge is the latest player to highlight the mess third base has become for the Red Sox. His bounced throw Friday led to two unearned runs. He also double-clutched a throw that was initially ruled an error but changed to a hit; he also dropped a popup in the ninth inning which led to a force-out. At present, there aren't many options for manager John Farrell. Pablo Sandoval (knee), Brock Holt (vertigo) and Marco Hernandez (shoulder) are all on the disabled list. Deven Marrero is on the 25-man roster, but his weak bat is untenable in an everyday role. Rutledge will remain the primary starter at third until one of the injured players are activated.

Rutledge is out of the lineup Sunday against the Twins, ESPN's Scott Lauber reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rutledge has been enjoying steady time at third base, making three straight starts due to a laundry list of injuries the club has at the position. He'll get the day off Sunday, however, giving way to Deven Marrero at the hot corner.

Rutledge went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Friday's 4-3 loss to Minnesota.
EDGE Analysis
Rutledge made his third consecutive start at third base -- as he will do for the foreseeable future with Pablo Sandoval (knee), Marco Hernandez (shoulder) and Brock Holt (vertigo) all on the disabled list -- and has hit in all three games (5-for-12). He finished Friday's game at first base, the first time he'd played that position in his major-league career, after Mitch Moreland was pulled from the game for a pinch-runner.

Rutledge is not in the lineup Thursday against the Yankees, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Dustin Pedroia (knee) back at second base, Marco Hernandez will slide over to the hot corner against right-handed hurlers while Rutledge heads to the bench. Pablo Sandoval (knee) should see the bulk of starts at third against right-handers when he is activated from the DL, though Rutledge should continue to start at third against left-handers.

Rutledge went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Rutledge was activated from the 10-day disabled list and will eventually serve in a platoon at third base while Pablo Sandoval (right knee sprain) is on the DL. He'll start against left-handers while Marco Hernandez -- once Dustin Pedroia (knee) is ready to play second base -- plays the hot corner when Boston faces a right-hander.

Rutledge (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day DL on Tuesday, WEEI's Evan Drellich reports.
EDGE Analysis
Not only is he healthy, but Rutledge stands to get some legitimate playing time over the next week or two, as Pablo Sandoval (right knee sprain) was placed on the DL as a corresponding move. Rutledge has a career .262/.312/.397 slash line, and has never been a league average hitter in the big leagues. He will likely lose out on at-bats once Brock Holt (vertigo) returns from the DL, but for now, it seems Rutledge and Marco Hernandez are the team's only healthy options at third base.

Rutledge (hamstring) was sent to Portland on Monday to finish his rehab assignment, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rutledge has played four rehab games with Triple-A Pawtucket -- going 1-for-9 with a homer and a 3:3 BB:K -- but with the PawSox on an off-day Monday, Rutledge will head to Double-A Portland in an attempt to speed up his return to the majors. If Dustin Pedroia (knee) or Pablo Sandoval (knee) require a trip to the DL, Rutledge could serve as a replacement given he is fully healthy.
