Rutledge (concussion) is still rehabbing with Triple-A Pawtucket on Tuesday, Brendan McGair of the Pawtucket Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Most people close to the situation expected the infielder to return from the disabled list Monday, but the Red Sox instead opted to bring top prospect Rafael Devers up from the minors to try to get any production out of the third base spot. Rutledge is now just 1-for-16 in five rehab games with the PawSox, which isn't a stat line that would compel the Red Sox to bring him back too soon.

Rutledge (concussion) will come off the DL prior to Monday's game in Seattle, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
He has been on the concussion DL since June 21, so this was a pretty serious head injury. However, Rutledge said earlier this week that his concussion symptoms are gone, so it is not surprising to hear he will soon be activated. The Red Sox will option a reliever as a corresponding move, so Rutledge will be left to compete with Deven Marrero and Brock Holt for at-bats at third base.

Rutledge (concussion) played five innings at second base Friday while on his rehabilitation assignment at Triple-A Pawtucket, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rutledge began his rehab assignment Thursday and said he hasn't experienced any symptoms. "I would say it's pretty much gone," he said of the concussion. "They're definitely nothing to fool around with, so I'm just happy I've been feeling better and thankful to be back out there." He'll play another seven innings Saturday before going a full nine Sunday. Once he's ready, Rutledge could join the Red Sox as part of a platoon at third base.

Rutledge (concussion) begins his rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket on Thursday, Brendan McGair of the Pawtucket Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rutledge will DH during his first game back from a concussion that has caused him to miss nearly a month's worth of action. The infielder could spend the rest of the weekend rehabbing and shaking off the rust depending on how Boston decides to handle his return. Since he's been out, Tzu-Wei Lin and Deven Marrero have been filling in just fine at third base, and it's unclear how manager John Farrell will shuffle the lineup moving forward.

Rutledge (concussion) is gearing up for a rehab assignment, and could be ready to play in games by next week, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rutledge has been out since June 24 with a concussion as well as left hip soreness. If the third baseman is able to embark on a rehab assignment early on in the week, there's a chance that he could return by next weekend for Boston's series against the Angels. In the meantime, Tzu-Wei Lin and Deven Marrero have combined to man the hot corner.

Rutledge was placed on the 7-day concussion DL on Saturday, MassLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Left hip soreness was cited as the reason for Rutledge's scratch Friday, and apparently he's also dealing with concussion symptoms. It's uncertain if he will need more than seven days. Tzu-Wei Lin was brought up Saturday to bolster the team's infield depth.

Rutledge was moved to the 10-day disabled list on Saturday, Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rutledge was scratched from Friday's lineup due to the hip injury, and it appears it's serious enough to warrant a trip to the disabled list. The Red Sox recalled Tzu-Wei Lin on Saturday to replace him on the 25-man roster.

Rutledge (hip) was a late scratch to the Red Sox lineup Friday, Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
In his place, Dustin Pedroia was inserted into the lineup after returning from a sore back injury. Rutledge should be considered day-to-day for now, but Boston may choose to give the infielder a couple of days to get back to 100 percent. If that indeed is the case, look for Deven Marrero to take over at third again Saturday.

Rutledge is not in the lineup Thursday against the Phillies, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rutledge will cede the second straight start to Pablo Sandoval at third base. Rutledge is a superior defender at third base, although the Red Sox may be willing to give Sandoval an extended look at the hot corner just to see if they have anything left to squeeze out of their big-dollar investment.

Rutledge is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Phillies, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Following a string of four consecutive starts, Rutledge will give way to the struggling Pablo Sandoval at third base. Until Sandoval, who is batting .211 on the season, demonstrates a dramatic turnaround offensively, it looks like Rutledge could serve as the primary starter at the hot corner. Rutledge doesn't have as high of a ceiling as a hitter as Sandoval, but he's a more capable defender at the position.
