Fernandez (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Saturday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports. Saturday marks exactly one year since Fernandez underwent Tommy John surgery, and he'll celebrate by making another step towards his return. He remains without a firm return date at this point, but some point in June seems to be the most popular opinion at this point.

Fernandez (elbow) said he felt great after throwing to live hitters for the first time Thursday, The Score's Greg Warren reports. "I don't want to go crazy and start thinking about a (return) day because it's going to change," Fernandez said following Thursday's session. "I feel fantastic. Knocking on wood right now. I feel like I haven't left the game." He has already been throwing up to 50 pitches in bullpen sessions, but a return date still remains unknown. Since this session against live hitters went so well, he will likely do another such session next week, and we could be creeping closer to a rehab assignment. A return sometime in June still seems like the best working theory.

Fernandez (elbow) will throw 15 pitches to live hitters Thursday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports. Fernandez has been slowly rebuilding strength in his surgically-repaired elbow in bullpen sessions over the past two months or so, and is now set to face live hitters for the first time since his procedure. He'll need to throw several live sessions before the team starts thinking about a rehab assignment, but a return in mid-to-late June seems possible in light of his progress.

Fernandez was transferred to the 60-day DL on Saturday, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports. This has no impact on his timetable, as he was not expected until June at the earliest, at which point the 60-day threshhold would be met. The move was to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for Matt Tracy, whom the Marlins claimed off waivers Saturday.

Fernandez (elbow) was placed on the disabled list Sunday, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports. Fernandez wasn't expected to be ready by April anyway, so this move is merely a formality. The right-hander has thrown several successful bullpen sessions recently, however, and seems to be a bit ahead of schedule in his recovery from Tommy John surgery last May. He's expected to return to the Marlins' rotation in June -- a timetable that could fluctuate if he continues to progress at this rate. The move was made retroactive to March 27.

Fernandez (elbow) threw off a mound Thursday for the second time this spring, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports. Fernandez already threw from a mound a few days back, and with no setbacks reported once again this time around, it sounds like his recovery remains on the right track. The timetable for the young right-hander remains a bit vague, but if he continues to progress free of any discomfort, he may end up closer to the June 15 end of the timetable than the July 15 one. It remains a bit early for this news to drastically affect his 2015 fantasy outlook, but it's a situation worth monitoring as spring training rolls along.

Fernandez threw off a mound without incident and said it felt "really, really normal," Juan Rodriguez of the Sun Sentinel reports. It's good Fernandez is throwing without any problems, but he's going to have to throw regularly with no set-backs for a while if he wants to get back to the field by June.

Fernandez (elbow) is expected to throw off a mound during the week of March 1, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports. The Marlins have been very transparent about their plans with Fernandez, pegging June 15-July 15 as his target for a return to major league action. His progress through the spring will be a major storyline out Marlins camp, but prospective fantasy owners may want to tread lightly during draft season as pitchers returning from Tommy John surgery often take some time to get back into top form.

Fernandez (elbow) is expected to make his 2015 debut between June 15 and July 15, mlb.com reports. Owners will find it useful that the Marlins have a pretty specific target range, but with four months to go until the beginning of said range, it's really more of a rough estimate. In the wake of Tommy John surgery last May, the Marlins are saying that June 15 represents Fernandez's best-case scenario for a 2015 debut.
