Peralta (shoulder) threw his first bullpen session this spring on Monday and will throw at least one more before he's cleared to appear in a game, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports. It's sounding like Peralta's shoulder soreness won't impact his Opening Day availability unless there is some sort of setback. He could be the favorite for saves next month while Kenley Jansen (foot) is sidelined.

Peralta (shoulder) could throw off a mound as soon as Monday, the Los Angeles Times reports. Peralta has yet to throw from elevated ground in camp due to shoulder soreness, which first crept up shortly before he reported. However, it appears his return to a mound could be imminent, as the right-hander has been throwing on flat ground for close to a week with no major issues. Manager Don Mattingly said Friday that he expects Peralta to be ready to go for the start of the season.

Peralta (shoulder) may be ready for Opening Day after all, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports. This contradicts a recent report by MLB.com's Ken Gurnick. "Peralta is fine. He's still on the program. I was a little surprised yesterday when I saw he wasn't going to be ready for the season," manager Don Mattingly said. "I think we all expect him to be ready for he season. His program continues."

Peralta (shoulder) could open the season on the disabled list, as shoulder stiffness has him two weeks behind schedule, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports. Combined with the injury to Kenley Jansen (foot), this could open the door for Chris Hatcher, J.P. Howell, and/or Pedro Baez to see April save opportunities. Peralta averaged 74 games a season the past four years, so perhaps this is nothing serious, but continue to monitor his progress in the coming weeks.

Peralta (shoulder) resumed playing catch on Sunday after experiencing minor soreness in a bullpen session earlier in the week, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports. No concerns here. Peralta could be in line to head a committee of relievers looking to fill in while Kenley Jansen (foot) is sidelined.

Peralta (shoulder) is slated to play catch Sunday after having some shoulder discomfort two weeks ago, Dylan Hernandez of the LA Times reports.Peralta was examined by team doctors recently, but they found nothing serious enough to warrant an MRI. The fact that he's playing catch tomorrow indicates that he'll slowly increase his workload until he fully recovers.

Peralta could see save opportunities early in the season while Kenley Jansen (foot) is sidelined, Bill Shaikin of the LA Times reports.Peralta and J.P. Howell jump out as the early favorites. Jansen could be sidelined until sometime in May, so bump up Peralta's value in deeper formats. Free agents Francisco Rodriguez and Rafael Soriano could also receive interest.

Peralta was traded to the Dodgers on Thursday, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports. Peralta pitched 63.1 innings out of the bullpen for the Rays in 2014, posting a 4.41 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with 74 strikeouts and just 15 walks over that span. The 38-year-old will head to the Dodgers along with Adam Liberatore for Jose Dominguez and Greg Harris.

Peralta's $2.5 million option was picked up by the Rays on Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Peralta wasn't overly impressive in 2014, allowing 31 runs on 60 hits and 15 walks over 63.1 innings and finishing the season with an ERA over 4.00 for the first time since he was with the Rockies in 2009. It's possible the 38-year-old's age has caught up with him, but the Rays will afford him another opportunity to pitch out of their bullpen in 2015.

Peralta worked one inning of relief in Sunday's 3-0 loss to the Red Sox, surrendering a run on two hits while striking out one. Peralta has mostly struggled out of the Rays' bullpen in recent weeks. Over his last eight outings, dating back to August 12, the veteran reliever has posted a lofty 5.59 ERA while allowing the opposition to hit at a .308 clip across 9.2 innings.
