Hardy will undergo an MRI on his bruised left foot Monday, Roch Kubatko of MASN reports.
EDGE Analysis
After fouling a ball off his left foot Sunday, Hardy was removed from the contest. Initial X-rays revealed "things [that the] Orioles want to check," according to Kubatko, meaning the injury could be worse than the team is letting on. Hardy's status should be clarified once the results of the MRI are known.

Hardy was removed from Sunday's game against the White Sox after fouling a pitch off his left foot, MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hardy's exit was likely just precautionary while team trainers look to assess the severity of his ailment, so he'll retain a day-to-day tag for now. Pedro Alvarez entered the game in place of Hardy and slotted in at third base, while Manny Machado moved over to shortstop. Hardy will have a full day to heal up before the Orioles open up a series with the Yankees on Tuesday.

Hardy homered twice in a win Tuesday over the Red Sox, as he finished 2-for-4 with five RBI.
EDGE Analysis
Hardy was off to a brutal start to the season, at 3-for-16 without a home run (.188/.278/.313). This big game already has his line up to .250/.304/.650. Hardy has hit under 10 home runs in each of the past two seasons and isn't worth much without his power production. He hit at least 22 home runs per year from 2011-2013, and at his best, he was one of the best power-hitting shortstops in the league. Even if he doesn't get back to his peak, Hardy is capable of much more power than the average shortstop.

Hardy (calf) will start at shortstop and bat seventh in the order Sunday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
A tight calf prevented Hardy from playing in the first two games of the series, but it looks like he'll be good to go after taking part in his usual pregame activities Sunday. Manny Machado will move over from shortstop to his usual post at third base to clear the way for Hardy's return.

Hardy (calf) is out of the lineup Saturday but expects to be ready to return for Sunday's series finale against the Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hardy missed Friday's game against the Rays due to some calf tightness but he was available off the bench. On Saturday, Hardy told reporters that his calf is healthy enough to play on, but the cold weather in Baltimore led manager Buck Showalter to deploy Manny Machado at shortstop again. Expect Hardy to draw back into the lineup Sunday, which would likely move Machado back to third base unless he's used as the DH.

Hardy went 2-3 with a run and an RBI in Wednesday's spring training game against Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
Entering his 12th MLB season, Hardy looks to continue to be the Oriole's everyday shortstop. Last year, the 33-year-old infielder played in only 114 games due to various injuries but in the three years before that, he averaged 152 games played per season. If he can return to playing 150-plus games like he did between 2012 and 2014, he could be a top-10 shortstop given his solid career average (.257) and above-average power potential (averaged 25 HRs between 2012 and 2014).

Hardy noted his shoulder is in better shape than it was during the season and he is lifting more in his weight training program, according to MASN Sports.
EDGE Analysis
Hardy's power disappeared in 2014 and 2015, averaging a home run every 55.3 at-bats, compared with a home run every 23.3 at-bats from 2011-2013. It seems Hardy's shoulder bothered him most of the season after he suffered an injury in spring training. These are the stories leading into next year's spring training that are always taken with a grain of salt. Hardy may be stronger, but bat speed is another part of power and there is absolutely no guarantee that Hardy can harness both strength and bat speed as he did a couple of years ago.

Hardy is out of the lineup on Wednesday, according to Roch Kubatko of MASN.
EDGE Analysis
Hardy has missed periodic games since returning from the disabled list. He's hitting .213 in 110 games for the Orioles this season. Manny Machado will slide over to shortstop once again to cover for Hardy.

Hardy is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
It will be Hardy's second missed start since his return from the DL, this time against Red Sox starter Henry Owens. Paul Janish will take the start at shortstop, hitting ninth.

Hardy is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Hardy hadn't missed a start since returning from the DL, but he'll have a day off as Rays starter Jake Odorizzi takes the mound. Paul Janish will start at shortstop and bat ninth.
