Hardy (wrist) underwent additional tests after feeling pain in his side that confirmed a broken rib, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hardy was originally placed on the disabled list with a right wrist fracture after getting hit by a pitch on June 17, but now he will have to recover from a broken rib as well. This injury seemingly stemmed from a collision with Trey Mancini during a series in New York about a week prior, and likely has another month or so before returning to the club.

Hardy was placed on the 10-day disabled list Monday with a right wrist fracture.
EDGE Analysis
This is simply procedural, as Hardy is expected to be sidelined for the next four-to-six weeks before resuming baseball activities. Ruben Tejada is expected to take over the bulk of duties at shortstop in his absence.

Hardy has been diagnosed with a non-displaced fractured right wrist and will be sidelined for four-to-six weeks before resuming baseball activities, Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hardy won't require surgery to address the injury, but he'll nonetheless be on tap for an extended absence after a CT scan confirmed that he had suffered a broken bone in the wrist after being hit by a pitch in Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Ruben Tejada is expected to step in as the Orioles' primary option at shortstop for the time being, with the injured Ryan Flaherty (shoulder) looming as another option at the position once he returns from the DL.

According to manager Buck Showalter, X-rays taken after Sunday's game on Hardy's wrist weren't encouraging, Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports. "Not good, not good," Showalter said. "We took an X-ray here, saw something that concerned us. I know he's got a scan in the morning and we'll have a little more definitive idea there."
EDGE Analysis
Based on the skipper's words, it seems the Orioles have reason to believe Hardy suffered a fracture. If that proves to be true, the shortstop will be in for a lengthy recovery process. Either way, Hardy's fantasy owners should make an immediate plan to be without him this week. Ruben Tejada is the O's only other shortstop option, barring shifting Manny Machado from third base.

Hardy exited Sunday's game against the Cardinals in the top of the sixth inning with a bruised right wrist, Rick Dubroff of PressBoxonline.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The injury likely stems from Hardy's fourth-inning at-bat, during which he was hit by a pitch. Hardy was able to shake off the injury and stay in the game initially after taking his base, but soreness may have set in soon after. Ruben Tejada replaced Hardy at shortstop.

Hardy is out of the lineup Sunday against the Astros, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
With a .579 OPS on the season, Hardy has been one of the worst-performing regulars in baseball, but he's at least turned the corner recently with three two-hit performances in his last five starts. While he'll give way at shortstop to Paul Janish on Sunday, Hardy still seems fairly secure in an everyday role at the position.

Hardy is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Hardy continues to scuffle at the plate to begin the season and will get a breather Sunday as the Orioles face off against Marco Estrada and the Blue Jays. Paul Janish, who had his contract selected Sunday, will draw the start at shortstop.

Hardy is out of the lineup Sunday against the Royals, Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles will give the veteran shortstop a breather in the series finale, allowing him to effectively rest for two days with Baltimore off the schedule Monday. Ryan Flaherty will check in for Hardy at shortstop and bat eighth in the order.

Hardy said he has "no excuse" for his poor start to the campaign, and he's a bit perplexed on how to fix it, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hardy's hitting just .207/.240/.272 with 19 strikeouts through 97 plate appearances so far. The shortstop's .250 BABIP -- well below his .280 career average -- suggests he's been a bit unlucky, although Hardy's 29.8 hard-contact percentage is down from last year's career-best 34.6 percent mark. The good news is that slow starts are nothing new for the veteran. Over 13 MLB seasons combined, Hardy's .220 batting average in the opening month is nearly 30 points lower than any other month. At age 34, owners shouldn't expect spectacular numbers from him, but Hardy should turn things around and offer decent production valuable for those in deep formats.

Hardy is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Hardy went hitless in each of his last three games, so he'll head to the bench for a night off. Ryan Flaherty will pick up a start at shortstop in his stead.
