Henderson underwent shoulder surgery Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. The shoulder simply wasn't getting stronger through rehabilitation, so Henderson and the Brewers opted for surgery in the hope that he can return to full strength at some point in 2015. Henderson's availability for the start of next season is far from certain, however, as he now faces a several-months-long recovery process.

Henderson may be headed for shoulder surgery, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. On Friday, manager Ron Roenicke ruled Henderson out for the rest of the season, and it sounds like the 31-year-old's shoulder may need to be surgically repaired. Henderson was expected to serve as the Brewers' closer this season but he ended up making just 14 appearances before the shoulder issue forced him onto the DL. If surgery is indeed necessary, Henderson could be in jeopardy of missing the start of the 2015 season.

Brewers transferred RHP Jim Henderson from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. It was a procedural move to clear a roster spot for Jeremy Jeffress and in no way affects Henderson's timetable. He's been making progress from a shoulder injury and could rejoin the Milwaukee bullpen this week.

Jim Henderson (shoulder) will continue his minor league rehab assignment on Saturday with Triple-A Nashville. Nashville marks the third stop for Henderson in his rehab, as he has posted 7 2/3 scoreless frames between the Brewers rookie league team and Double-A Huntsville. If everything continues to go smoothly, he could be looking at a return to the Brewers bullpen early next week.

Jim Henderson (shoulder) resumed a rehab assignment with the Arizona League Brewers on Thursday. Henderson had to be shut down for a while after experiencing renewed shoulder discomfort during a rehab appearance in late May, but he appears to be back on track now. The reliever would seem to have a shot to return before the All-Star break if all goes well.

Jim Henderson (shoulder) threw his first bullpen session Wednesday. Henderson was placed on the 15-day disabled list in early May because of right shoulder inflammation. His bullpen session Wednesday was successful, but he acknowledged that it is the first step of many to come. The right-handed setup man remains out indefinitely.

Jim Henderson (shoulder) was given a cortisone shot on Tuesday. Henderson had a setback last week when he experienced renewed right shoulder discomfort. However, he's hoping it will just be a small bump in the road. "We need to free it up and be pain free and then we'll be good to go, really," Henderson said. "I'm going to just ice it and make sure the injection stays in there and does its work. Then we can get back to strengthening it and exercising again."

Jim Henderson experienced renewed right shoulder discomfort in a rehab appearance on Friday. Henderson will visit a specialist to determine the severity of the setback. He had been aiming to return to the Brewers' bullpen by the end of this month. The right-hander has been out since May 2 with shoulder inflammation.

Jim Henderson (shoulder) will throw one more bullpens session on Tuesday before likely being sent out on a rehab assignment. Henderson felt a little weak during a bullpen session on Saturday, but it's something he expected. He should be ready to rejoin the Brewers' bullpen before long. "It's one of those day-by-day things now," Henderson said. "You're anxious, but you've got to be patient with it, too."
