Henderson picked up his seventh hold of the season with two-thirds of an inning of scoreless relief Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Henderson was used in the eighth inning with Addison Reed (rest) unavailable. He lowered his ERA to 1.59 in the outing with his fastball sitting in the 95 mph range. Henderson earned a role on the team with a strong spring and has carried that performance over to the first five weeks of the season.

Could draw a save opportunity in Saturday's matchup with the Indians, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jeurys Familia has worked four of the last five games, which will render him unavailable Saturday. Also Addison Reed is questionable for the game. This leaves Henderson as the likely candidate to get the closing nod over Hansel Robles if the situation arises due is closing experience.

Henderson, after throwing 34 pitches Tuesday, was called upon again by Terry Collins on Wednesday, but struggled, possibly due to diminished velocity.
EDGE Analysis
Henderson only retired one batter Tuesday, allowing a run on a hits and two walks but was hitting 95mph with his fastball. Wednesday, Henderson failed to retire a hitter, allowing a hit and two walks, but was bailed out by his bullpen mates. His fastball sat at only 89-90mph, which is troubling given his past shoulder woes. The Mets have a day off Thursday but if Henderson's fastball fails to get back to its normal level this year and/or his arm is bothering him, the team might have to shut him down for a bit.

Henderson tossed a scoreless seventh inning in the Mets' 2-0 win over the Royals on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Henderson, making his Mets debut and pitching in his first regular season game since 2014, hit 96-97 mph on his fastball. He had solid command and control, with 11 of his 13 pitches strikes, as he attempts to rebound from shoulder issues that derailed his career. With Hansel Robles (suspension) out, Henderson was the bridge from Noah Syndergaard (six innings) to Addison Reed and Jeurys Familia; a role that Henderson and Robles will both get chances to fill.

Henderson's contract was selected by the Mets on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
After posting a strong 1.80 ERA and 0.90 WHIP this spring, the right-hander has been rewarded with a spot on the Opening Day roster. Henderson won't likely get too many high-leverage innings with Addison Reed and Jeurys Familia at the back end of the bullpen, but it's a good sign going forward for Henderson after having the last two seasons derailed by shoulder issues.
