Weaver (3-3) lost his third consecutive decision on Tuesday against the Dodgers. He pitched seven innings, allowing four runs (three earned), ten hits and two walks while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver has admittedly been working through general soreness and tightness in his right shoulder, and said he's doing everything he can to get back to feeling 100 percent. "There's been nothing easy about this process," said Weaver, who's still throwing his fastball in the low 80s. "It's been a lot of hard work in between starts, and it's taken a bit longer than anticipated as far as my body goes." Over his past four starts, the right-hander is 0-3 and has given up 18 earned runs (including six home runs) on 36 hits while watching his ERA balloon nearly two points. It's hard to say with certainty that the 33-year-old in his 11th season won't hit the DL in the near future. For now, his next start will be Sunday against the Orioles.

Weaver (3-2) was smashed for eight runs on nine hits (three of them homers) in four innings against the Cardinals on Thursday. He struck out five without a walk.
EDGE Analysis
Yes, Weaver sure did throw a lot of strikes -- 56 of 79 pitches -- and his soft offerings were smacked around the ballpark like the batting-practice pitches they are. The veteran righty's turned out a few solid starts, but they've been overshadowed by a number of blowups, and while he'll bring his ERA down from the hideous 6.10 he currently owns, that won't be enough to make him into a net positive fantasy asset in the vast majority of formats.

Weaver (3-1) allowed just two runs (one earned) on six hits, struck out five and walked none but received a no-decision against the Rays on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was cruising in the sixth when Corey Dickerson reached on a throwing error and then Steven Souza Jr. homered in the next at-bat to tie the game. Other than that, he was spectacular, recording 75 strikes in 103 pitches and inducing 17 swing-and-misses. That's exactly the bounce back owners wanted to see after Weaver allowed seven runs on 11 hits in his last outing. Weaver will make his next start Thursday against the Cardinals.

Weaver (3-1) allowed seven runs on 11 hits and two walks over five innings in a loss Monday against Milwaukee.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver gave up just two extra-base hits out of those 11, both doubles, but he routinely caught too much of the plate last night. With his fastball sitting in the low-80s, Weaver has been relying on his changeup, but the Brewers put it in play eight times for five hits (.625). Overall, the Brewers managed 11 line drives against Weaver on 21 balls in play. The 33-year-old may have been undefeated entering this game, but he has a 5.40 ERA after this beating and is all but out of gas.

Weaver (3-0) allowed four runs on nine hits and two walks over six innings in a win Tuesday over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver was significantly helped by his offense, which poured on eight runs against Edinson Volquez in the first five innings. Weaver induced just six swinging strikes and needed eight fly balls to get through his six innings. Weaver's fastball averaged 84.4 MPH and topped out at 86.1 MPH according to Brooks Baseball. He owns a 3.86 ERA, but how long can he cheat Father Time?

Weaver (2-0) stifled the White Sox over seven innings Thursday, allowing just three hits, two walks and one run in a 3-2 victory.
EDGE Analysis
He struck out only two, but fantasy owners know better than to expect whiffs from Weaver at this point in his career. He's turned in two quality starts in thee outings, but has also given up a homer in each of his starts -- not a good omen for a guy who had serious problems with the long ball last year. Weaver's 3.12 ERA and 1.27 WHIP on the young season may look relatively appetizing, but it's hard to imagine the 33-year-old undergoing a career renaissance. He's got a 5.70 FIP and a fastball that's now not even averaging 82 miles per hour.

Weaver didn't factor into the decision in a 6-4 loss to the Twins Saturday, surrendering eight hits, four earned runs and two walks over 4.1 innings. He also struck out a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran turned in an atypical poor performance against the Twins, which he had dominated to the tune of a 9-2 record over the course of his career. He allowed two runs in the opening frame, and then surrendered a solo homer to Trevor Plouffe in the third and a game-tying double to him in the fifth. The 33-year-old had been much sharper in his first start of the season last Sunday versus the Rangers, and will try to rebound from Saturday's struggles next Thursday versus the White Sox in Chicago.

Weaver (1-0) allowed one run on six hits and one walk while striking out four over six innings, and earned the win Sunday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
After dealing with a spring training neck injury, Weaver opened the season with an outstanding performance, and the only run he allowed was on a homer to rookie Nomar Mazara. The veteran comes into this season after having his ERA significantly rise in each of his previous four seasons, but he'll look to build off of his excellent outing. He'll make his next start Saturday at the Twins.

Weaver (neck) will start either Sunday or next Monday, provided he makes it through a four-inning simulated game Tuesday without any setbacks, the Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is his final test before the Angels slot him into the rotation after what was a very rocky spring. Tuesday's simulated game will be his second consecutive controlled outing, and third in his last four while he works his way back from a next issue. If everything goes according to plan, he will either pitch Sunday against the Rangers or Monday against the A's, with Andrew Heaney taking the mound on the other day.

Weaver will make his first scheduled start this season after recovering from a neck injury, Joey Kaufman of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver's spring was temporarily derailed after he was diagnosed with mild degenerative changes in his cervical spine, but he always expected to be ready to start the regular season. While this may be good news for the Angels, Weaver and his ever-dissapearing fastball didn't give prospective owners much to be hopeful for, as he was tagged with five home runs in just 9.2 innings during Cactus League play. If he can stay healthy, Weaver may have value in deeper leagues as an innings eater, but he has some work to do before he can be considered relevant in mixed leagues. He is scheduled to start against the Rangers on Thursday.
