Locke limited the Braves to two runs on six hits and two walks in seven innings Thursday. He struck out six batters.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty, who threw 66 of 97 pitches for strikes Thursday, has registered quality starts in four of his last five appearances. For the season, Locke has compiled a 5.08 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. He still makes for a risky start but had little trouble with the offensively-challenged Braves.

Locke gave up six earned runs in 5.1 innings Saturday. He allowed six hits and two walks, striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
Locke shut the Cubs down for three innings before Anthony Rizzo touched him up for a wind-aided three-run dinger to right field. Addison Russell then piled on with a two-run shot in the fifth and Locke left the game with a final result worse than his actual performance. After three straight quality starts, the lefty was star struck by the hottest team in baseball.

Locke did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Cardinals, surrendering four hits, three earned runs and two walks over six innings. He also struck out a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old now has three straight quality starts under his belt, following an April 20 appearance in which the normally docile Padres touched him up for 11 hits and eight earned runs in just three innings. Locke has walked multiple batters in each of his six starts this season, but has now lowered his ERA in three successive trips to the mound. He'll try to keep his positive momentum going in a tough matchup against Jason Hammel and the Cubs at Wrigley Field next Friday.

Locke allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out six over seven innings, but received no decision Sunday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Locke left the game with a two-run deficit, but the offense scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to take him off the hook for a possible loss. He's now allowed three or fewer earned runs in four of his five starts to lower his ERA to 4.73. He'll make his next start Saturday against the Cardinals.

Locke (1-2) earned his first win behind six shutout innings Monday against the Rockies. He struck out eight, walked two, and allowed five hits.
EDGE Analysis
After struggling all season long, Locke turned it on in Coors Field of all places. It helped that he needed just two fly ball outs to get through the six innings, as he used eight ground ball outs and nine swinging strikes to carve through the Rockies lineup. He needed 106 pitches for those six innings, so he likely would have been done even if he wasn't lifted for a pinch hitter in the seventh. Locke's ERA dropped from 7.24 to 5.03, but he still has a brutal 15:15 K:BB in 19.2 innings on the season.

Locke (0-2) was beaten up for eight runs on 11 hots and four walks in just three innings Wednesday in San Diego.
EDGE Analysis
Three games into the season, Locke is averaging nearly a walk per inning (13 in 13.2) while giving up close to two hits per inning (23 total) and striking out just seven. That is to say, he's been absolutely atrocious, and after he posted a 4.49 ERA and 1.42 WHIP last season, there's not much for fantasy owners to hang their hats on here.

Locke allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits, walking seven and striking out four but didn't make it out of the fifth inning in an 8-4 loss to the Brewers on Friday night.
EDGE Analysis
It could have been much worse for Locke (0-1, 2.53 ERA) as he pitched with men on base throughout the abbreviated outing. He worked on simplifying his delivery this spring, and there have been some encouraging results at times, but Locke is a finesse pitcher so missing his spots frequently is a recipe for disaster until he gets everything in synch. He'll hope for better next time out when he faces the Padres in PETCO Park.

Locke took a no-decision Sunday, allowing one run on seven hits and two walks in six innings while striking out one.
EDGE Analysis
The lone run came on a Eugenio Suarez solo shot. Locke struggled in 30 starts last season, but at least for now his simplified delivery produced solid results. His next start appears to be favorable matchup, at home Friday against the Brewers.

Locke will make his first start of the season Sunday versus the Reds, Stephen J. Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Locke was originally expected to make his first start earlier in the weekend, but the Pirates elected to keep Francisco Liriano on schedule and slot Gerrit Cole in behind him. That lines him up to face Anthony DeSclafani in Cincinnati, which still appears to be a favorable matchup for the Pirates' left-hander.

Locke will be in the starting rotation to begin the season, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite his rocky performance this spring, Locke didn't lose his spot in the starting rotation. The Pirates haven't announced whether Ryan Vogelsong or Juan Nicasio will occupy the final spot, and the decision may come down to how the pitchers perform in their final outings of the spring. Locke, meanwhile, will likely make his first start of the season Fri., Apr. 8 against the Cardinals.
