Locke (8-6) gave up five runs on seven hits and five walks over just three innings in Wednesday's loss to the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty's had a simply awful season, as he hasn't had an ERA better than 4.68 since his second start of the year. He turns in a head-turning gem once in a while, but has a tendency to get lit up entirely too often and remains at risk of imminent displacement from the rotation by top prospect Tyler Glasnow.

Locke registered his third straight win Friday, throwing five innings of three-run ball against Oakland. He gave up three hits and three walks, striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
After throwing 54 pitches through two innings, Locke settled down with 41 pitches over the next three frames. He recorded nine ground-ball outs after starting the game with three straight flyouts. He holds a 5.13 ERA for the season (which includes an 11 run outing in Colorado), filling his role as a fifth starter.

Locke (7-5) allowed one run on five hits while striking out three over seven innings to earn the win Saturday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Locke kept the Dodgers off the board until the sixth inning to tie the game at one, but the offense picked him up with five runs in the bottom of the sixth to get him an easy win. After allowing 18 runs in two starts earlier this month, he's gotten back on track by allowing one run in 13.2 innings over his last two starts to move his ERA down to 5.12. He'll make his next start Friday at the Athletics.

Locke (6-5) allowed just five hits in 6.2 shutout innings while striking out three without a walk to beat the Giants on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
All Locke and the Pirates needed to lock down a victory was a fifth-inning Erik Kratz solo shot. It's nice to see a rebound effort from the southpaw, who had been struggling mightily with 18 earned runs allowed in just 8.2 innings over his last two starts heading into this one. Hopefully he can use this effort as a building block to another strong game Saturday against the Dodgers.

Locke, who has allowed 18 earned runs in 8.2 innings his last two starts, will square off against the Giants' Madison Bumgarner on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Locke holds a 3.94 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in 32 innings at PNC Park in 2016. He surrrendered six earned runs on 11 hits and two walks over five innings last September at home against San Francisco. While it may appear the lefty is fighting for his starting spot, Pittsburgh has shown more faith in Locke than he probably deserves.

Locke (5-5) was thrashed for seven runs on nine hits and a walk in just four innings Wednesday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Last week's 11-run blowup in Colorado, while brutal, was at least forgivable because hey, it's Coors Field. New York's Citi Field is a whole other story, however -- it's a pitcher-oriented park and the Mets don't hit particularly well there. No matter how you slice it, it's hard to find a silver lining on the thundercloud of Locke's 18 earned runs in a span of 8.2 innings. He'll try to reverse this downward side against the Giants on Monday.

Locke (5-4) was torched by the Rockies for 11 runs on 11 hits over 4.2 innings. He walked three and struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
To say his outing was a disaster, would be selling Locke's brutal performance short. It became obvious from the start that Locke's four-game winning streak would come to a screeching halt at Coors Field on Thursday. The first four Rockies hitters were a home run shy of the cycle before Locke could register his first out of the day. Entering this game, Locke had been enjoying a nice run of wins while posting a 2.76 ERA over those four starts. His 5.38 ERA (4.28 before first-pitch against the Rockies) might not let him forget this one, but Locke will try to move on and rebound in his next start on Wednesday against the Mets.

Locke (5-3) surrendered seven hits and three earned runs over seven innings in Saturday's 8-7 victory over the Angels. He struck out two, but did give up two more homers.
EDGE Analysis
Locke was highly efficient, with two of the three earned runs he surrendered coming on two pitches. He made only 82 offerings through his seven frames, getting 58 of them across the strike zone. The veteran southpaw did give up multiple homers for the third time in the last five starts, but did prove highly effective in getting quick outs otherwise. Locke now has three quality starts in the last four trips to the mound, but will have a tall order trying to extend that streak next Thursday versus the Rockies in Coors Field.

Locke (4-3) tossed a complete game three-hit shutout in a win Monday over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Locke had yet to last more than seven innings in a start before twirling this gem in Miami. He induced just six swinging strikes but drew a whopping 15 ground balls. As a result, he managed to eliminate two of the three baserunners he allowed with a double play and finished the game facing just one batter more than the minimum. It certainly helped that Locke was facing a Marlins lineup with Giancarlo Stanton, and even with this start, he has just a 4.33 ERA and a 33:24 K:BB in 60.2 innings.

Locke (3-3) threw 6.1 innings and allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk with one strikeout, but it was enough to get the win against Arizona on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Locke allowed two homers and only registered one strikeout, but he managed to get the win in an otherwise uninspiring performance. The lefty will look to carry on this momentum in next start against the Marlins on Monday.
