Manager Don Mattingly said Locke (shoulder) could take Vance Worley's place in the starting rotation upon activation, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
While nothing has been confirmed yet, Mattingly suggested that Worley would likely head to the bullpen if Locke joins the rotation. He compiled a 1.77 ERA and 22:2 K:BB across 20 innings (seven starts) between High-A Jupiter and Double-A Jacksonville during his four-game rehab assignment. Should he get the ball Thursday, Locke would face Zack Greinke and the Diamondbacks.

Locke (shoulder) is finished with his rehab and is awaiting activation, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Locke is ready to rejoin the big club after making four minor-league rehab starts, compiling a combined 1.77 ERA and 22:2 K:BB across 20 innings with High-A Jupiter and Double-A Jacksonville. He should return to a long relief role once he is activated.

Locke (shoulder) is expected to participate in a rehab assignment with High-A Jupiter sometime in the near future, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw has already thrown in simulated games at extended spring training and could return soon after his tune-up game from shoulder tendinitis that has dogged him since early in spring training. Locke would return to long relief duty with an opportunity at starts should a spot open up for the Marlins' rotation.

The Marlins placed Locke (biceps) on the 10-day disabled list Sunday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Locke was unable to secure an Opening Day bullpen gig with the big club after a bout with biceps tendinitis shelved him for much of spring training. The lefty has recently resumed mound work and could start pitching in minor-league games in the near future, so it appears he's not in line for an extended absence. Once he's activated from the DL, Locke will either work in long relief for the Marlins or potentially serve in a starting role at Triple-A New Orleans.

Locke (biceps) is in line to begin the season the disabled list, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.
EDGE Analysis
Locke has been able to throw off a mound in recent days, but since he wasn't able to get any Grapefruit League appearances under his belt before Opening Day, it was a foregone conclusion that he would be DL bound. Once he proves he's healthy, Locke may have to settle for long-relief duty with the big club.

Locke (biceps) threw 15 pitches off a mound Saturday, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
He reported no issues with his arm afterwards, but Locke is still looking at a late April or early May return to action given the amount of time he missed this spring with the injury. Depending on how the rest of the Marlins' staff is faring when he returns, the lefty could slot into the rotation or in long relief.

Locke (biceps) is schedule to throw off a mound Saturday, the Miami Herald reports. "I think we're progressing pretty well," Locke said Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
He'll still expected to begin the season on the DL, however, and a late April or early May return seems to be the best-case scenario for Locke given how little work he was able to get in during spring training. Depending on the state of the Marlins' rotation when he's finally healthy, the left-hander could fill either a starting spot or a long relief role, or both, this season.

Locke (biceps) continues to throw every other day, but has not yet gotten back on a mound and seems unlikely to be ready for Opening Day, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports. "Honestly, I don't think we see him as guy being ready to open the season," Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. "It may be close. It may be 10 days, it may be two weeks. I want him to be healthy and keep growing. We've got to make sure he's healthy first, built up properly without rushing."
EDGE Analysis
The former Pirate seemed ticketed for a long relief role anyway, but Locke's bout of biceps tendinitis appears to have cost him a shot at even breaking camp on the 25-man roster, much less winning a spot in the rotation. He can be safely ignored in even deep fantasy formats until he proves he's healthy and can effectively retire big league hitters, something that he's struggled to do over the last two seasons.

Locke (biceps) played catch Wednesday, Matthew DeFranks of the Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander's next step will be revealed soon as he tries to compete for a rotation spot in camp. He may need to increase his workouts to remain in contention, however, as Miami could slot him in as a reliever if he's too far behind. With this delay and his generally shaky skills when healthy, NL-only players should handle his value with caution if they need to speculate.

Locke, who is dealing with bicep tendinitis, felt good after throwing both Saturday and Monday, Tim Healey of the Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Locke has been moving along slowly since camp started, and manager Don Mattingly is hoping that will change now that he has had completed a pair of throwing sessions. "We're hoping we're over the hump and on a progression now," Mattingly said. He'll look to throw off a mound in the coming days, and should continue to progress from there, although his status for Opening Day remains uncertain. When the 29-year-old returns, he'll look to compete for a rotation spot, although may find himself in the bullpen due to his absence.
