Jason Kubel hit his 24th and 25th homers to power the Diamondbacks to a 6-3 win over the Pirates on Thursday. Both homers were two-run shots, with Aaron Hill scoring on each. Kubel ranks third in the NL with his 25 homers. Today's were just the seventh and eighth of those homers to come in road games.

Kubel hit a two-run shot to center field in the top of the first inning and a solo blast to right-center in the fourth. He's batting a healthy .295/.369/.549 with 17 home runs and 63 RBI in 81 games this season, and should remain a reliable fantasy outfielder through September.

Jason Kubel (hamstring) hopes to return to the Diamondbacks' lineup Tuesday. Kubel hasn't started since leaving last Friday's game with hamstring tightness. "I'm feeling better," Kubel said. "Each day is better and I'm able to get looser easier." Manager Kirk Gibson was a little less optimistic, saying that while the team didn't plan on putting Kubel on the DL, it would have to be considered if he's not ready to play in a couple days.
