Jason Kubel (back) was hitless in three at-bats Tuesday in his return to the lineup. Kubel was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to a stiff back, but it's not a major concern. The 31-year-old outfielder is batting just .231 with five homers and a .659 OPS in 71 games this season.

Arizona begins a three-game series Friday against Florida and Kubel's former Twins teammate Kevin Slowey. Cody Ross and A.J. Pollock will pick up additional at-bats if Kubel can't play.

Kubel also drew a walk in his second game back from the disabled list. Despite missing nearly weeks of action, Kubel has three dingers this month.
