Peavy (0-1) gave up six runs on 11 hits and a walk while recording five strikeouts in Wednesday's loss to the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
That sounds like about your typical Coors Field stat line, but the thing is, Peavy already gave up double-digit hits in his first outing this year. His name brand will always give Peavy some extra appeal, but if you own him, use him with caution, particularly with a start against the Diamondbacks on deck.

Peavy gave up four runs on 10 hits in five innings against the Dodgers on Thursday, but escaped without a decision in an eventual 12-6 win.
EDGE Analysis
A particularly hittable Peavy put the Giants in a 4-0 hole and was out of the game by the time his offense went to work turning the tide. Although Peavy had some success with the Giants in the last two seasons, he's 34 and injury-prone, and he doesn't miss bats like he used to. He'll do in NL-only formats, but it's hard to count on him in shallower leagues.

Peavy - who struggled this spring to the rune of a 6.11 ERA - finished on a high note against Oakland on Friday and will serve as the Giants' fourth starter.
EDGE Analysis
Like the rest of the Giants' rotation, Peavy benefited from leaving Arizona and returning to the cool climate in Northern California. Regardless, spring training statistics should be taken with a grain of salt when evaluating veterans with job security, as they are simply trying to get their arms in shape for the regular season. At age 34, Peavy doesn't seem like a very appealing option, but he should definitely be rostered in NL-only leagues and should provide value in standard leagues in the right matchups.

Peavy could be in line for shorter outings in 2016, CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Giants bolstering their rotation with Johnny Cueto (212 innings in 2015) and Jeff Samardzija (214 innings in 2015), they will not need Peavy to eat innings the way he did last season. They will theoretically have fresher bullpens when his turn comes in the rotation. Despite having a 3.58 ERA, Peavy posted a 2.43 ERA through the first five innings. Manager Bruce Bochy will look to get him out of games before he gets in trouble. If this plan comes to fruition, Peavy will take a hit in terms of volume statistics (strikeouts and wins), but should have improved ratios. He is currently slated to be the Giants' fourth starter.

Peavy won his eighth game of the season Saturday, allowing just one run on four hits and a walk over five innings while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
The lone run scored on a Ben Paulsen solo shot, but otherwise Peavy was solid in his final start of 2015. When he was healthy he pitched reasonably well, so expect him to be back in the Giants rotation next season.

Peavy took a no decision despite a brilliant start Monday against the Dodgers, as he allowed one run on just three hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Peavy has saved his best for last, as he now has four consecutive quality starts with a 18:3 K:BB in that span. His ERA has dropped from 4.41 to 3.66 as a result, and he now has a sharp 76:24 K:BB in 105.2 innings this year. It's a good sign for the Giants, who have Peavy signed for one more year.

Peavy pitched six shutout innings Wednesday, giving up just four hits and a walk while striking out four in a 5-4 loss to the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Peavy was great against his former team, departing after throwing 88 pitches with a 2-0 lead. Peavy has been excellent over his last three outings, allowing just three earned runs over 19 innings. Injuries have shortened Peavy's 2015 campaign -- with the Giants out of contention, the 34-year-old will look to regroup next season in his final contract year with San Francisco.

Peavy (7-6) turned in one of his best performances of 2015 Wednesday, tossing six innings of two-run ball while striking out eight and walking just one in the win over the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Peavy has strung together four wins in his last five starts with a 3.52 ERA over that span. He hasn't been more than a decent NL-only pitcher this season, but that has been mainly a result of his lack of strikeouts. The eight-strikeout performance was likely an anomaly, as indicated by his 6.60 K/9 rate. Regardless, his next start comes at pitcher-friendly Petco Park against the Padres next Wednesday, and he will even have mixed league appeal for that start.

Peavu (6-6) was sharp on Friday, as he allowed just one run on two hits while striking out two in a 9-1 win over the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
What might have been the most impressive part of his outing is that it only took him 79 pitches to get through his seven innings. This was Peavy's best start of the season and he proved he can still be a valuable asset for streaming purposes. Peavy should be in line for another good start when he hosts Cincinnati next Wednesday.

Peavy (5-6) secured a win Saturday night, giving up three earned runs on four hits while walking one and striking out five over 5.2 innings in a 7-3 victory over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Peavy emerged from his first Coors Field start of the season relatively unscathed, pitching to contact and helping himself out at the plate with an RBI double. The 34-year-old has shown diminished velocity and doesn't miss bats at nearly the rate he used to, resulting in a career-worst 4.19 FIP. He's next set to take the mound Friday against the Padres.
