Peavy doesn't possess elite strikeout stuff, but he can be useful in the right matchups, especially when pitching in the friendly confines of AT&T Park. He will look to continue his recent string of quality starts when the Giants take on the Athletics on Wednesday.

The Giants broke the game open in the eighth inning, leaving Peavy without a win despite his fifth quality start in his last seven trips to the mound. His 5.47 ERA doesn't look pretty, but it's a vast improvement on the grotesque 9.00 mark he held after his first six starts of the year. He'll try to keep his momentum going in a favorable matchup at home against the Phillies on Friday.

The Giants are going with Albert Suarez for Saturday's game and will start Peavy on Sunday in a matchup against Jake Odorizzi. Peavy has been up and down throughout the 2016 season, but he did manage to throw six innings of shutout baseball against the Dodgers last weekend.

Peavy was excellent Sunday versus the Dodgers, allowing just four hits and one walk across six scoreless innings to earn his third win of the season.

He's posting the worst numbers of his career and can't be trusted in virtually all formats at this point.
