Peavy (2-5) threw seven shutout innings with just one hit allowed and three strikeouts in Tuesday's win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Peavy has found a groove of late with a pair of consecutive quality starts, although that can probably be chalked up to his opponents -- San Diego and Atlanta -- more than anything else. Atlanta's 3.22 R/G is just hundredths of a run better than Philadelphia for worst in the National League, and they have managed to score more than three runs just thrice in the past 10 games. Peavy still has a 6.34 ERA and will need to show up like this against a superior lineup before fantasy owners can really believe in him.

Peavy pitched 6.2 innings, and allowed only one run on six hits and a walk while striking out four during Tuesday's win against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
It was Peavy's third quality start in his last four outings, and even though it wasn't enough to get the win, at least it kept the Giants in the game. The veteran righty bounced back from his worst start of the season, when he allowed five hits in 1.2 innings against the Cubs.

Giants' manager Bruce Bochy has no plans to pull Peavy from the rotation despite his struggles, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Peavy's ERA for the season currently sits at 8.21, with a WHIP of 1.90. In his last start, he faced the Cubs, and let up seven hits for five runs, including one homer in 1.2 innings pitched. Bochy believes that Peavy will come around due to getting 19 strikeouts in 17 innings before his last rough start.

Peavy (1-5) allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks over 1.2 innings to take the loss Friday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Peavy got out of a jam in the first inning before getting shelled for five runs in the second inning, giving the Giants no chance against the Cubs in this contest. He's only posted one quality start in his last five outings, and his ERA has ballooned to 8.21. He'll make his next start Wednesday against the Dodgers.

Peavy allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings, but received no decision Saturday at the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Peavy left the game with a two-run lead, but the bullpen failed to hold that lead, costing him a potential victory. This was only his second quality start in eight outings, and he currently holds a 7.43 ERA. He'll make his next start Friday against the Cubs.

Peavy (1-4) allowed three runs on five hits and five walks with six strikeouts over five innings in a loss Monday to Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Peavy still has just one quality start this season, as this marked just the second time Peavy has allowed fewer than four earned runs this season. He gave up his seventh homer in as many starts, a two-run shot from Edwin Encarnacion, as it seems clear he just doesn't have the stuff to beat major league hitters any more. Monday's effort lowered Peavy's ERA to 8.47, and even though he had 31 strikeouts in 34 innings pitched, Peavy's mistakes are being punished too hard for him to have a chance to succeed.

Peavy (1-3) was roughed up for the second straight outing, allowing seven runs on eight hits, including four home runs over six innings Wednesday afternoon against the Reds. He also struck out eight and walked one.
EDGE Analysis
He threw 71 of his 101 pitches for strikes, but the problem was the fly balls kept landing out of the park. In his last start, Peavy had the opposite problem. He only allowed four hits but walked five in just two frames. Peavy has now yielded 13 runs in his last eight innings. He will try to get back on track Monday against the Blue Jays.

Peavy was blasted for six runs on four hits, walking five and striking out three over two-plus innings of a 13-1 loss to the Mets on Friday night.
EDGE Analysis
Peavy (1-2) logged a couple of scoreless innings before the dam burst in the third. He faced six hitters in the inning - all of which reached and eventually scored - before departing. He then watched as the bullpen coughed up six more scores in a 12-run inning. Peavy was coming off his best start of the season, but this debacle drove his ERA back up to an obscene 8.61 on the year. He'll try to get things back on track against the light-hitting Reds in Cincinnati next time out.

Peavy earned his first win of the season Saturday against the Marlins, allowing just two runs with four strikeouts and a walk over seven strong innings.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran entered the game with a season ERA of exactly nine, but he kept the Marlins at bay en route to his first quality start. Peavy has issued just two walks this season, and he proved Saturday that if he can scatter the base hits, he can still be effective. He will look to build off of this start Saturday versus the Mets.

Peavy allowed four runs on seven hits in a no-decision Monday against the Diamondbacks. He struck out two and didn't walk a batter.
EDGE Analysis
Peavy pounded the zone with 54 strikes in his 78 pitches, but his pitches have lost some luster since his prime, and they weren't fooling the Diamondbacks on Monday. Peavy has a solid 10:1 K:BB thus far but has served up an absurd 28 hits in just 14 innings. It doesn't matter how crisp Peavy's control is if he keeps getting punished like this. His ERA sits at an even 9.00.
