Street (oblique) played catch Tuesday for the first time since landing on the DL, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's just the first hurdle for Street on the road back from a strained left oblique, but regardless, this is a welcomed development for those holding the right-hander. Joe Smith is 2-for-2 in save chances since taking over for Street in the ninth inning, but there's no doubt Street will resume closing duties upon activation.

Street was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday with a strained left oblique.
EDGE Analysis
Street said following Wednesday's game that he expected to land on the disabled list, and his hypothesis was proven correct Thursday. It's not yet clear how long he will be out, but there's a good chance he is sidelined beyond the first day he is eligible to be activated, May 9. Joe Smith is expected to fill in as the Angels' closer in Street's absence.

Smith expects to be placed on the disabled list with the oblique strain he suffered Wednesday, Mike DiGiovanna of the LA Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Angels have not yet unveiled a timeline for Street's recovery from his oblique injury, but if he lands on the disabled list, he would miss at least two weeks, and potentially more time on top of that. With Street looking at a multi-week absence, Joe Smith is primed to be the Angels' closer until at least sometime in mid-April.

Street suffered an injury to his side while working out prior to Wednesday's game and was not called upon to close out the Angels' victory over the Royals, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Street's injury was not announced pregame, but he was still be evaluated as of Wednesday night, and was not available out of the Angels' bullpen. The extent of Street's setback should be known after his examination is complete, but if he is forced to miss any further time, Joe Smith -- who notched the save Wednesday in Street's place -- would figure to take over the ninth-inning duties in his place.

Street allowed a hit and recorded one strikeout in a scoreless inning to earn his fifth save of the season Saturday versus the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Street has been excellent to start the season, as he is 5-for-5 on save situations and owns a 1.17 ERA. The veteran is averaging a career-low 4.3 K/9 so far this season, which would move him down a peg if it sustains, but he should be a solid source of saves and ratios regardless.

Street gave up a solo homer and a pair of walks in the ninth inning Thursday against the White Sox, but was able to escape a jam and secure his fourth save.
EDGE Analysis
After getting Jimmy Rollins to pop out and Jose Abreu to strike out, Street looked like he was headed for an easy inning, but then Todd Frazier homered and he issued consecutive walks before getting a fly ball to end it. Considering this marks both the first walks and the first run of the year for Street, his fantasy owners will find a way to deal with Wednesday's unhelpful ratios.

Street needed just seven pitches to earn his third save of the season Tuesday in Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
Street demonstrated the importance of having a reliable closer, shutting the door with a 1-2-3 inning after Oakland counterpart Sean Doolittle blew a save in the top half of the ninth. The veteran has been perfect in 4.1 innings pitched.

Street earned his first save of the season with a perfect ninth inning while striking out two Sunday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Street came in to the game with a two-run lead, and quickly set down the Rangers in order to close out the victory for the Angels. On the season, he's now pitched three perfect innings and has a win to go along with the save he earned in this contest.

Street (1-0) picked up the win Thursday against Texas, tossing a clean ninth and benefiting from Albert Pujols' walk-off in the bottom of the frame.
EDGE Analysis
And so Street has his first win before his first save or strikeout -- that's unusual. Nonetheless, the Angels should start setting him up for save chances soon.

Street (calf) allowed two hits and a walk in a scoreless inning against Arizona on Thursday in his spring debut.
EDGE Analysis
The second batter of the inning, Nick Ahmed, tripled on a flyball to left but was then picked off by Street, allowing him to keep a run off his ledger. Calf tightness has limited Street some in recent weeks, but there was nothing to suggest his availability for Opening Day was ever in any jeopardy.
