The Yankees have decided to skip Kuroda's next rotation turn, Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News reports. After the Indians got to Kuroda for three runs on five hits over 4.2 innings Sunday, the right-hander indicated that he's operating at less than 100 percent, saying "I'm good enough to get on the mound out there." However, GM Brian Cashman said that the decision to skip Kuroda is not due to injury, rather the team just feels he could benefit from some extra rest. With Tuesday's game rained out, the Yankees will push Shane Green to Saturday and start Chris Capuano in Sunday's series finale against Tampa Bay.

Kuroda lasted just 4.2 innings Sunday against the Indians, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks to get the loss. Kuroda alluded that he's somewhat less than 100 percent. "I'm good enough to get on the mound out there," said Kuroda. "Everybody look around. It's hard to find players 100 percent physically. So you've got to be able to respond with whatever you've got."

Kuroda pitched well Tuesday, giving up three runs on six hits over seven innings in a no-decision against the Yankees. He also sat down five and didn't issue a walk. Kuroda was the first of seven Yankees hurlers to take the hill in what ended as a 12th-inning loss for the Bronx Bombers. The seventh-year big leaguer retains his 7-7 record to go with a 3.97 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 142.2 innings (23 starts) this season.

Hiroki Kuroda held the Reds to one (unearned) run over 6 2/3 innings Sunday in a Yankees victory. Kuroda was left with a no-decision because the Yankees didn't win it until the bottom of the ninth inning. He struck out six and surrendered only three hits. The veteran right-hander will carry a 3.88 ERA and 1.19 WHIP into his next start at home versus the Blue Jays.

Hiroki Kuroda allowed four runs on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings but earned the win on Sunday, defeating the Twins. Kuroda was aided by an offense that gave him nine runs of support, so he didn't need to be particularly good to notch his sixth win. The right-hander walked two and struck out three. Kuroda has a 4.20 ERA and 1.26 WHIP through 18 starts, and he'll square off with the Orioles in Baltimore on Friday.

Hiroki Kuroda allowed two runs on nine hits over seven innings in a loss to the Rays on Tuesday. Kuroda walked one while striking out seven on the night. After a rough start to the year, the 39-year-old has turned it around in recent weeks -- he's lowered his ERA each month through the first three months, most recently posting a 3.52 ERA through five June starts. He's pitching well enough to deserve a better mark than his 5-5 record, and he's got another good matchup Sunday at the Twins.

Hiroki Kuroda improved to 5-5, allowing three runs over 6 1/3 innings as the Yankees defeated the Blue Jays 5-3 on Wednesday. While the Jays had opportunities, Kuroda was able to pitch out of danger several times to limit the damage. He allowed eight hits -- including a solo home run to Jose Reyes to lead off the ballgame -- and walked two while striking out four. Now with a 4.23 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP, and a 67/20 K/BB ratio, Kuroda will attempt to throw a third consecutive quality start against the Rays at home in his next start.

Hiroki Kuroda allowed two earned runs in six innings against the Orioles. Kuroda didn't allow a hit until the sixth inning, then gave up four hits and two runs in the frame. He didn't factor into the decision, as Carlos Beltran hit a walk-off home run to take him off the hook for the loss. While he looked good early on Friday, Kuroda's only made it out of the sixth inning four times in fourteen starts.

Hiroki Kuroda surrendered four runs in 4 2/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the A's. Kuroda is a spot starter in mixed leagues these days, and he wasn't a very good matchup against the A's. He'll bring a 4-5 record and a 4.32 ERA with him into his next start at home against the Orioles. Mixed leaguers will probably want him reserved for that one, too.

Hiroki Kuroda allowed two runs on five hits over seven innings in a loss to the Royals on Sunday. Kuroda continues to find moderate success without the strikeouts, as he punched out just three while walking two over his seven innings of work. The right-hander fell to 4-4 with the loss. He'll carry a 4.12 ERA and 1.22 WHIP into Friday's contest against the Athletics in Oakland.
