Hiroki Kuroda's status for Friday's start against the Orioles is up in the air due to a leg issue. Kuroda flew back to New York to get checked out, and that's all that's known at the moment. The Yankees could provide an update on his status later Tuesday or Wednesday. Ivan Nova threw a bullpen session Tuesday and would start in Kuroda's place Friday if need be.

Hiroki Kuroda was charged with four runs on seven hits over six innings in his start on Sunday night against the Orioles. Kuroda gave up three home runs, but continues to be the victim of poor run support. Despite the loss, he didn't allow any walks and had seven strikeouts. Kuroda will take a 2.95 ERA and 1.06 WHIP into his next start.

Hiroki Kuroda allowed three runs -- two earned -- in 6 2/3 innings of a no-decision against the Rangers on Tuesday. The ball was flying out of Yankee Stadium on Tuesday as the teams combined for six home runs, two served up by Kuroda. Still, he held the Rangers to five hits and a walk in his 6 2/3 innings while striking out six. He'll look for a better fate Sunday when he faces the Orioles in Baltimore.

Facing his old team for the first time, Hiroki Kuroda outdueled Hyun-Jin Ryu with 6 2/3 innings of two-run ball as the Yankees beat the Dodgers 6-4 in the first game of a doubleheader. The Yankees were up 3-0 when Ryu left after six before Kuroda gave up both of his runs in the seventh. Fortunately, the Yankees were able to build on from there, and the two-run home run that Preston Claiborne gave up to Hanley Ramirez in the eighth didn't cost Kuroda the win. It was his first since May 17. The Yankees had scored a total of seven runs in his previous five starts.

Hiroki Kuroda held the Athletics to two runs on just two hits and two walks over eight innings in Thursday's extra innings loss. He struck out three. Kuroda certainly deserved his seventh win of the season, but the Yankees were unable to score after Robinson Cano's first-inning blast. The veteran right-hander will carry a splendid 2.78 ERA and 1.04 WHIP into next week's start at home against the Dodgers.

Hiroki Kuroda gave up three runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings in his start on Sunday night against the Red Sox. Kuroda managed five strikeouts, but struggled after opening the game with three scoreless frames. He allowed home runs to Jose Iglesias and David Ortiz and was pulled in the sixth inning following a rain delay. Kuroda now has a 2.59 ERA through his first 12 starts.

Hiroki Kuroda shut out the Mets for seven innings but took a no-decision in the Yankees' loss on Tuesday. Kuroda did his part, holding the cross-town rivals to just four hits over seven innings. The right-hander also struck out seven batters, and he lowered his ERA and WHIP to 2.39 and 1.00, respectively, in the outing. Unfortunately he failed to pick up his seventh win due to a rare blown save by Mariano Rivera. He'll look for a better fate against another rival, the Red Sox, in his next turn on Sunday.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said he would be "shocked" if Hiroki Kuroda (calf) was unable to make his next start. Kuroda's calf tightened up on him an inning after he was hit with a comebacker Wednesday, forcing him to leave the game. But he'll be fine. The right-hander is scheduled to face the Mets early next week.

Hiroki Kuroda left Wednesday's start against the Orioles in the third inning with a bruised right calf. Kuroda was hit on the calf by a comebacker in the previous inning, and it evidently tightened up on him. All things considered, it's good news for the Yankees, though it remains to be seen if Kuroda will be ready for his next start. He was charged with five runs on eight hits over two frames before exiting.

Hiroki Kuroda left Wednesday's start against the Orioles in the third inning with an apparent injury. Kuroda was hit on the calf by a comeback in the previous inning, but some are speculating that his back might be the issue. The Yankees will provide an update on his status soon. It would be yet another big injury blow to the Bombers if Kuroda has to miss significant time.
