Garrett Jones tripled, doubled and scored twice against the Nationals on Monday. Jones seems to have come out of his slump, as he's now hit in six straight. Yesterday's hit was a homer, ending a drought that extended back to June 24.

Garrett Jones went 2-for-5 with a go-ahead two-run single in the 10th to lead the Marlins to a 3-1 win over the Braves on Monday. His first big hit in a while. In fact, Jones had driven in a total of six runs in a month, all of them coming in Marlins losses. The 10th got started tonight when Christian Yelich delivered a leadoff single off Shae Simmons. He was advanced on a sac bunt, at which point the Braves intentionally walked Giancarlo Stanton. Casey McGehee then worked a walk of his own, bringing up Jones. The Braves declined to counter with new lefty Chasen Shreve, and Jones delivered against Simmons.

Garrett Jones went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's loss to the Phillies. Jones homered in the eighth inning against B.J. Rosenberg to bring the Marlins within three, but by then, it was too little, too late. It was Jones' 10th homer of the season, and he has 34 RBI with a .257/.324/.441 slash line on the season. The 32-year-old has been a good find for the Marlins.

Garrett Jones went 0-for-3 against the Yankees on Sunday and is in a 2-for-31 slump. We think Jones is done as a useful major leaguer, but that didn't stop the Marlins from giving him a two-year, $7.5 million contract and a guaranteed starting job over the winter. He'll likely be the team's cleanup hitter against right-handers, at least for a month or two.
