Jones was traded to the Yankees on Friday, Marc Carig of Newsday reports. Jones hit .246/.309/.411 with 15 home runs and 53 RBI last season with the Marlins. He will likely see playing time at first base, corner outfield and designated hitter for the Yankees this season, though he doesn't have a starting spot locked up like he did with the Marlins last season.

Jones is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Nationals, according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro. Jones is just 1-for-18 in his career against Nationals starter Stephen Starsburg, so manager Mike Redmond decided to hold him out Saturday. Jordany Valdespin will get the start in place of Jones, who had played right field the previous four days.

Jones clubbed a pair of doubles and scored a run in four at-bats during Wednesday's loss to the Phillies. Jones is getting some run in the outfield with the Marlins' depth depleted following the loss of Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna to injury. The team is also taking a long look at Justin Bour at first base and the youngster could potentially challenge Jones for playing time in 2015. The veteran Jones has posted a disappointing .242/.307/.408 slash line in 480 at-bats during his first season in Miami and will likely be relegated to a platoon role next season.

Jones is out of the lineup Sunday against the Nationals. Jones saw a start in right field on Friday, but will give way to Justin Bour at first base for the third straight game. Jones and his 15 home runs have provided fantasy owners with modest power this season, but a .194 batting average over the season's final two months have left much to be desired. He'll likely continue to rest over the final week of the season to give the Marlins a longer look at the 26-year-old Bour.

Jones is out of the lineup Saturday against the Nationals, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports. Jones will sit for the second time in three games. With the Marlins out of playoff contention, the team will likely give Justin Bour an opportunity to audition for next season's roster. Bour is starting at first base for the Marlins on Saturday and will bat fifth.

Jones launched a solo home run Saturday's in a loss to the Phillies. It was Jones' only hit of the day and Miami's only run of the day as their bats were largely neutralized by Kyle Kendrick and the Phillies' bullpen. He's now up to 15 home runs on the year, but Jones has struggled since the All-Star break, batting just .218/.286/.381 in 44 second-half games.

Jones went 1-for-2 with a run scored in his return to the lineup Sunday against the Braves. After receiving back-to-back days off to clear his head, Jones responded with a fifth inning leadoff double and would come around to score the games' first run. Slashing .241/.310/.398 for the season, the Marlins appear to finally be realizing that Jones is over-extended as an everyday player. Expect Jeff Baker and Justin Bour to continue to work in at-bats at first base down the stretch.
