He's now hitting .280 with 11 homers and 26 RBI in 186 at-bats, including three bombs in his last six starts. In deeper leagues, he's worthy of a look as a corner infield option until A-Rod is able to return.

X-rays on Eric Chavez's right leg came back negative. Chavez left Friday's game against the Red Sox after being hit in the right shin by a pitch. He had his leg wrapped in the clubhouse after the game, but remarked that it looked worse than it felt. It sounds like a day-to-day situation.
