Mujica was granted his release from the Phillies on Thursday, Stephen Gross of The Morning Call reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mujica had compiled a 3.69 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP for the Phillies' Triple-A club this season at the time he requested, and was granted his release from the team. The 32-year-old reliever chose to pursue a different organization through free agency instead of sticking around and potentially getting traded in the next couple weeks, or continuing with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Mujica's last appearance in the majors was with the A's in 2015, where he spent 33.2 innings of work, allowing 18 earned runs and accumulating 22 strikeouts.

Mujica has a 3.86 ERA, 21 saves and a 25:3 K:BB in 35 innings for Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran reliever was recently named to the International League All-Star team. He could get an opportunity with the Phillies later this month if the team deals some of their veteran bullpen pieces before the trade deadline.

Mujica was re-signed to a minor league contract by the Phillies on Wednesday, Ryan Lawrence of The Philly Voice reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mujica signed a minor league contract with the Phillies one day after being released by the team. He struggled in 2015 with the A's, pitching 33.2 innings with a 4.81 ERA. This spring, the 31-year-old has posted a 2.16 ERA during 8.1 innings of action. With 494 appearances on the mound in the majors, Mujica can provide organizational depth for the Phillies bullpen. Mujica will report to minor league camp on Thursday.

The Phillies released Mujica on Tuesday, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mujica pitched well this spring, but the Phillies decided to go in another direction. He should find interest from other clubs in need of relief help.

EDGE Analysis

Mujica has a March 26 out clause in his contract with the Phillies, the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mujica has tossed four scoreless innings this spring and looks to be on his way to earning a roster spot with the Phillies. He could also be in the mix for closing duties if David Hernandez gets hurt again before Opening Day.

Mujica signed a minor-league contract with the Phillies on Thursday, which includes an invite to spring training, MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mujica has saved at least one game in the big leagues in four straight seasons, so it would be unwise to count him out, despite declining stuff. Last year he split time between the Red Sox and the A's and compiled a 4.75 ERA and just 30 strikeouts in 47.1 innings.

Mujica (leg) tossed a scoreless inning in Sunday's loss to the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Mujica had not pitched in two weeks prior to Sunday's game, but he was able to get back on the mound after recovering from his leg injury. He figures to pitch in middle relief the rest of the way.

Mujica (leg) threw off a mound Wednesday and could pitch again this season, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mujica has been out since Sept. 14 with a mysterious leg injury, however manager Bob Melvin believes the 31-year-old could pitch again for the A's this season. If he returns, it's unlikely he will pitch in any high-leverage situations, however it's still a positive sign for Mujica considering he was supposed to be out for a considerable amount of time.

Mujica (leg) will be out "a while," reports Jane Lee of MLB.com.
EDGE Analysis
Obviously that's a rather vague assessment, but it looks as though Mujica will be held out of baseball activity for the next several days. With the A's well out of contention in the AL, they don't have much of an incentive to rush him back with only a few weeks remaining in the season.
