Fister (1-5) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five batters through 7.2 innings during Monday's win over Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
This was easily Fister's best start of the year, and the veteran righty was nearly flawless until allowing a two-run home run to Bradley Zimmer in the eighth frame. Still, even after Monday's solid showing, it's difficult to trust Fister in the majority of fantasy settings considering his 6.27 ERA and 1.64 WHIP. He does line up for a favorable matchup against the White Sox at Fenway Park in his next start, though.

Fister will move up to start Monday as the Red Sox rearrange their rotation in David Price's absence, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It was assumed that Fister would just slide into David Price's old slot, but the Red Sox will use this opportunity to give Chris Sale and extra day off. As such, look for Fister to get a pair of starts this week, coming Monday against Cleveland and Saturday against the White Sox.

Fister will take the place of David Price (elbow) in the rotation, profiling as Tuesday's starter against Cleveland, Michael Silverman of The Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
It sounds as if Price may miss an extended period of time as he deals with another forearm/elbow injury that landed him on the disabled list prior to Friday's outing. Although the Boston brass feels confident that they will not need to make any additional moves to shore up the rotation, it remains a possibility, especially considering Fister's poor play during his time with the Red Sox. For the time being, Fister will slide back into the rotation, but that could change depending on the results of Tuesday's contest with the Indians.

Fister will make the transition to the bullpen after allowing six earned runs on seven hits and four walks over 4.1 innings of work against the Blue Jays on Thursday, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fister delivered another underwhelming outing during Thursday's start, leaving the affair with the Red Sox losing in the top of the fifth inning. Most concerning, Fister just couldn't throw strikes, with only 53 out of 100 pitches registering as a positive for the right-hander. With Eduardo Rodriguez's return from the DL (knee) this past Monday, the team would have to go to a six-man rotation to keep Fister on the mound, and manager John Farrell was adamant about not going that route. Without the quantity of innings, Fister has not sold himself on being a viable fantasy commodity this season, especially after posting a 7.89 ERA in 20.2 innings of work for Boston since joining the team in June.

Fister will receive the start for Thursday's game against the Blue Jays, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though he was pushed off his originally scheduled start for Tuesday after being needed out of the bullpen in Saturday's 16-inning loss to the Yankees, Fister will draw a turn in the rotation versus the Blue Jays after all. As the Red Sox's pitching schedule currently lines up, manager John Farrell will use seven different starters in the next seven games, with Chris Sale being moved back a day for extra rest in order to make room for Fister. Farrell has made no indication that the Red Sox will deploy a six-man rotation during the second half, so Fister and Brian Johnson (who will be called up from Triple-A Pawtucket to start Tuesday) could both be in line for demotions to the bullpen or minor-league ranks following their respective outings this week.

Fister won't make his scheduled start Tuesday against the Blue Jays after he covered 2.2 innings in relief in Saturday's 16-inning loss to the Yankees, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Now that he'll miss out on the Tuesday start, Fister may have to settle for bullpen duty on a permanent basis with Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) set to come of the 10-day disabled list to rejoin the rotation Monday. Assuming Rodriguez comes out of Monday's outing healthy, he'll be locked into the rotation along with Chris Sale, David Price, Rick Porcello and Drew Pomeranz. With a 6.75 ERA and 1.79 WHIP over 17.1 innings with the Red Sox, Fister hasn't made a compelling case for manager John Farrell to expand the rotation to six men.

Fister (0-3) gave up three runs off four hits and a pair of walks while striking out one in 2.2 innings of work during Saturday's loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Fister came in to pitch during the bottom of the 14th, and cruised through two innings before giving up four straight hits to begin the 16th. The right-hander took the loss during his first appearance out of the bullpen since he was a National in 2015. Fister's ERA bloated to 6.14 following this contest, and he has now factored into the decision in three of his four outings this season, all of which he took the loss. Although it's a small sample size, Fister has not pitched well for Boston this year, and could be on the homestretch of his time with the club. Since he came in to pitch over two innings of work during Saturday's game, Fister's projected start Tuesday could come into question, but that would likely be his last opportunity with Eduardo Rodriquez (knee) set to return to the rotation.

Fister (0-2) gave up six runs (four earned) on five hits and three walks over 3.2 innings while striking out three in Wednesday's 8-2 loss to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old has gotten progressively worse results in his three starts for Boston, but with Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) due back after the All-Star break Fister's time with the Red Sox is likely drawing to a close. He's set to make one more start for them July 18 at home against the Blue Jays.

Fister (0-1) allowed three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five across five innings, but received no-decision Friday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Fister gave up a three-run homer to Justin Smoak in the first inning, but settled down nicely and held them without a run in the following four innings to keep the Red Sox in the game. In his two starts with the team, he owns a 4.91 ERA, and he'll likely need to put together a few solid starts to earn trust as a fantasy option. He'll make his next start Wednesday against the Rangers.

Fister (0-1) allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks over six innings Sunday against the Angels. He struck out six and took the loss.
EDGE Analysis
Fister was strong in his debut for the Red Sox, but Boston's lack of run production left him on the losing side. Despite that, he made a positive first impression, keeping the Angels off the board in every inning but the second, when they put up three runs on him. For his first start in the majors this season, though, it has to be considered a successful outing.
