Fister (12-13) lasted just 1.1 innings and allowed five runs on five hits, including a home run in a loss to the Mariners on Wednesday. He also struck out two and walked one.
EDGE Analysis
The loss means Fister will finish winless in his final seven starts, five of which he took the loss. He hasn't won since throwing seven shutout innings at Pittsburgh on Aug. 22. At that point, he was 12-8 with a 3.59 ERA, but over his final seven starts, he posted a 10.54 ERA. That sour ending leaves him at 12-13 with a 4.64 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 115 strikeouts in 180.1 innings.

Fister (12-12) dropped his fourth straight decision after allowing seven runs on eight hits -- including two homers -- and two walks with three strikeouts in 3.2 innings in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Fister struggled again on Sunday, failing to complete five innings for the fifth time in his last seven starts. The 32-year-old has faded badly down the stretch, with a 7.85 ERA and 1.85 WHIP dating back to August 11. He'll look to improve his 4.45 ERA and 1.41 WHIP -- both career highs -- in a friendly home matchup against the Angels on Friday.

Fister (12-11) pitched 4.1 innings, allowing six runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out two Indians in Wednesday's loss.
EDGE Analysis
Fister, the Astros' most reliable starting pitcher in the first half of the season, has struggled lately. He's 2-4 with a 7.12 ERA in his last six outings, and only one of those has been a quality start. The veteran had allowed only two runs through four innings on Wednesday before Mike Napoli crushed a two-run homer in the fifth. Fister was pulled after allowing two soft singles later that frame, and Brandon Guyer brought both baserunners home.

Fister yielded seven runs on 10 hits and one walk, and failed to strikeout a batter in just 3.2 innings Friday night against Texas.
EDGE Analysis
This was the veteran lefty's worst game of the season in more than one way: fewest innings pitched, most runs allowed, and the only time he hasn't struck out at least one batter. The 32-year-old fared well against the Rangers the previous three times he's faced them this season, but not this fourth time around. His next matchup, Wednesday against the Indians in Cleveland, won't be much easier.

Fister (12-9) allowed four runs, two of which were earned, on seven hits and one walk while striking out one over 4.1 innings to take the loss Sunday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Fister has now allowed four runs in three of his last four starts, and his ERA has gone from 3.47 to 3.60 on the year. He now has reached the 100-strikeoout mark for the first time since 2013. He'll make his next start Saturday against the Rangers.

Fister (12-8) earned the win on Monday by shutting out the Pirates for seven innings. he allowed just three hits, walked one, and struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Fister had allowed nine runs over his previous two starts before Monday's masterpiece. The veteran has vacillated between very good (three starts of zero runs allowed) and very bad (three starts of four-plus runs allowed) over his last seven games. The end result is a 3.59 ERA and 1.27 WHIP a season after losing his starting job in Washington. Fister will try to develop some consistency when he takes on the Rays on Sunday.

Fister (11-8) allowed four runs on seven hits, struck out three and walked one over four innings in a loss to the Cardinals on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander worked around a base runner in the first two frames, but the Cardinals tagged him for five hits and three runs in the third. Fister then allowed a solo homer in the fourth. After working his ERA down below 3.50, Fister has allowed nine runs in his last 11 innings. He is 11-8 with a 3.76 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 95 strikeouts in 146.0 innings.

Fister (11-7) pitched seven innings, allowing five runs, eight hits and two walks while striking out five Twins in Thursday's win.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander was in line for a quality start before giving up a pair of runs in the eighth without recording an out. Fister's final line looks worse than his true performance, as he tried to push himself deep into the game, throwing his most pitches in a game since July 7, to save the bullpen for the second game of the day's double-header. Since May 1, the 32-year-old right-hander has been remarkable on the road, going 7-1 with a 3.10 ERA away from home. Fister will look to bring some of that mojo home for his next start against the Cardinals on Wednesday at Minute Maid.

Fister allowed one run on nine hits, struck out two and walked two over six innings in a no-decision against the Rangers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander failed to post a clean inning in the entire game, but still made it through six on 94 pitches. Fister threw 61 of those pitches for strikes, and the only run he allowed was a solo bomb in the sixth. Since a bad loss versus the Yankees on July 26, Fister has allowed just one run in 12 innings over two starts, but he took a no-decision in both outings. Fister will look to keep this going but win in his next start Thursday against the Twins.

Fister has been activated from the paternity list and will start Saturday's game against the Rangers, Angel Verdejo of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fister spent the last three days with his family, but he is back with the Astros, and will jump right back into the rotation Saturday. He has fared well against the Rangers this season, giving up three earned runs in 12 innings over two starts.
