Brown (shoulder) is available to play in Thursday's game against the Pirates, Stephen Gross of the Morning Call reports. Brown suffered a shoulder contusion in the fifth inning of Wednesday's game, but manager Ryne Sandberg indicated that his absence from Thursday's lineup is more so due to the presence of a lefty on the hill for Pittsburgh. Apparently, the injury is not something that will cost Brown additional time.

Brown (shoulder) is out of the lineup Thursday against the Pirates, Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. A left shoulder contusion, suffered on a diving play in the fifth inning of Wednesday's game, will keep Brown out of the lineup Thursday against lefty Francisco Liriano. Darin Ruf will get the nod in left in place of Brown, who will likely continue to be deployed in a part-time role upon his return.

Brown left Wednesday's game with a left shoulder contusion, the Philadelphia Daily News' Ryan Lawrence reports. He was replaced by Darin Ruf after hurting his shoulder playing the field. Few players have been as disappointing as Brown this season, as he has followed up a 2013 season where he hit .272 with 27 home runs in 139 games by hitting just .232 with nine homers in 129 games this season. Consider him day-to-day for now.

The Phillies will look to trade Brown this winter, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. The team will try to find a deal for a "similar change-of-scenery-type player" according to the article. Brown has hit just .234/.284/.347 with eight home runs this season after hitting 27 bombs last year. He's been a little better since the start of July, hitting .259/.306/.400 with three home runs.

Brown was 4-for-5 with a home run and a double in the Phillies' loss to the Mets on Sunday. Despite Sunday's performance, Brown recorded a uninspiring .227/.279.329 slash-line over 52 at-bats in August. Brown is hitting .235 with eight home runs and 58 RBI overall this season.

Brown said he is trying to adjust to not being an every day player, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. "It's difficult to get into a rhythm when you are not playing every day, but I am taking what they give me and making sure I am ready to go," Brown said. Brown has started just 23 games in July and August, first losing playing time to Grady Sizemore and now splitting time in left with Darin Ruf. It looks like the Phillies will give Brown the majority of the starts against right handed pitching moving forward while Ruf will start against lefties. Brown has been a disappointment this year with just seven home runs after hitting 27 last season.
