If he remains on the roster, Navarro could also compete with Justin Smoak for at-bats, pushing Edwin Encarnacion to first base and allowing the backup catcher to see time as the team's DH.

Navarro has recorded at least one hit in 10 of his last 11 games, raising his average from .271 to .285 in the process. He is having the best offensive season of his career as he also has 12 home runs and a career-high 65 RBI.

Navarro was 2-for-2 with a pair of walks and a two-run home run in the Jays' win over Tampa Bay on Wednesday night. He has put together a solid season and now has 12 home runs and 61 RBI to go with a respectable .283 average. He gets the majority of the work behind the plate with the Jays and can be a useful catcher in most fantasy formats.
